For what it is worth.....
The "Free" icon is next to the Cornell - UMass men's lacrosse link, and I didn't have to give my subscription password to get a black screen. Granted it is early, *only* 5 minutes before game time.
Time to try another browser and see if that works.
I'm seeing the same thing. Blank screen...assume they just haven't started the feed.
Cornellbigred.com says the game is 1:20.
But ESPNU just has a stupid game show on now, even though the schedule says College Lacrosse. I'm very confused. Help!
I think it is CSTV screw-up, yet again. I can get the JHU-Penn audio just fine.
It is raining in Ithaca. CSTV has trouble broadcasting on a clear day. I'm not very hopeful that we will get anything much before half-time. So, those of you watching on TV, please provide score updates. Thanks! ::help::
EDIT: CSTV LAX audio link page has JHU playing Penn State.
Ah, there we go. Delayed because of lightening. Ha, that happened last time they hosted a home first rounder, right? What luck.
Thanks DeltaOne81,
Still, it is easier to blame CSTV. ;-)
Lightning delay

Happened in the middle of the first-round game at Towson last year.
Princeton leading UMBC 7-3 mid-third.
It's just audio, isn't it? Or is there somewhere I can get video that I'm not aware of?
Beeeej
Online looks like me to be just audio too.
Game on, UMass wins first faceoff.
Should we use this as the game thread? Wanna chat the title maybe Rita?
2-0 Cornell, Seibald, then Boulukos
Beautiful rising shot from Mitchell on the man-up, 3-0 Red
I can't seem to get the plugin to work - can anybody give me a direct URL for standalone WMP?
Beeeej
UMass not rolling over, 3-2
end of the first, still 3-2
Hello? Anybody?
UMass ties it.
No audio feed for the last 5 minutes or so. CSTV.... SUCKS!!
:-(
Cornell went up 4-3, but UMass tied it again... Cornell possession
UMass now playing for the last shot after calling time-out.
After a near flawless first eight minutes, we've looked pretty bad. They have two long poles on our middies so the attack has to step up. Yet we keep taking long shots by Boulukos and Siebald.
Now Cornell with the ball calls time-out with 33.5 in the half.
4-4 at the half
We have got to play smarter in the second half. Jack Reid is the best defender in the country and he's marking Boulukos, yet Joe keeps trying to beat him by forcing bad shots and it just ain't working. Mitchell was open for two easy first-period goals but we've forgotten him in the offense since.

Not working, but thanks for trying. Still just getting "Connecting..."

5-4 Umass right now, and then we killed a man-up, including getting a shot of our own off the crossbar

Lewis ties it at 5 after Joe B and Haswell hit pipes
UMass scores again, 6-5
7-5 UMass on a fast break
offensive turnover to a fast break, we gotta wake up soon, mainly offensively, or they'll be staying home
I've "lost the satellite" in the midst of a monsoon.
Seibald drives in and scores, 7-6
... but we still can't win a faceoff
Seibald
7-6 UMass
we screw up another clear, UMass gets it back, but cant get anything home as the quarter expires
7-6, end 3
I lost the Internet audio and can't seem to reconnect.:-(
I've "lost the satellite" in the midst of a monsoon.
Welcome Al, to the land of the frustrated. Don't bother with the audio because that is not working either. At least a monsoon is a good excuse for losing a feed. I'm not sure what is going on in Ithaca besides the usual CSTV ineptitude.
Cornell ties it up! 7-7...
and finally wins a faceoff!
Cornell ties it, according to indianstick on laxpower
We need a fourth quarter like the one at Duke.
8-7 UMass
Time left?
But Cornell with a faceoff win, bring it down and scores... 8-8, 5:47 left
Edit: Pittard, btw - nice to see us 1) actually win a faceoff, and 2) do something in transition
8-8; satellite broadcast is stop-action here like Some-Access
9-8 Cornell, Seibald forcing his way in!
UMass sneaks one in the far post, 9-9
Audio's back on All-Access
10-9 UMass, and they win the faceoff
under 2 minutes left
Gonna take a miracle to pull this one out
UMass simply moves the ball better in the offensive end, creating open looks against our very aggressive D.
we have the ball, 1 minute left
Cornell ball, 30 seconds now, after we took a shot and UMass got it back...
UMass wins
I really have to question the way we played that last minute. Very disappointing way to deal with our last opportunity in such an important game.

Absolutely.
Encapsulated the game, IMHO. Bad shot choice, couldn't create any chances, couldn't keep possession. If only there was a faceoff to lose.
Just didn't play a very good game, and all our weaknesses showed - faceoffs, offensive creativity, and time of possession.
They also didn't use their last timeout when they got the ball with 30 seconds left which I thought was dumb. A lot of passes thrown away, what i'm guessing was our worst clear percentage of the year was the biggest problem. The terrible clears were uncharacteristic and really hurt our offense. Seibald was awesome in the 4th, but he couldn't carry the team all by himself.
Sounded like a good game and a heckuva 4th period.
Would have loved to have been in the crescent to watch, but the deer that I hit flush at 70 MPH on I-81 south of Binghamton forced a 4 hour delay in our arrival time to Ithaca.
Sad way to end a season that had so much promise. Maybe we thought too much of ourvselves, but even when UMass went up in the fourth quarter, it felt as if we'd ultimately tie it up and go ahead by a goal or two and that would be the way the game turned out.
Explosive as the Cornell offense was this year, one of Hillel's warnings was that we lacked a finisher like Greehalgh or Nee. Wonder if it was one of them circling the cage with 15 seconds to play, or taking a feed, that the shot would have gone in.
Can't lose that many faceoffs and expect to win a close game. Cornell's clears weren't like they were the rest of the season (although UMass seemed to throw even more passes out of bounds on clears).
Can't complain about the seeding. Yes, we should have been seeded higher and gotten a lower-ranked opponent, but if we couldn't get past UMass, we just plain didn't have it, at least not Saturday.
Heck of a way to go out. Before the season, maybe we were somewhere in the top ten. Midway through the season, the hope we could go all the way, at least as far as the final game. Now, sort of back where it all began.
This diving shot by David Mitchell tied the game at 10 with about 15 seconds to play. Or would have had it gone in. Damn! Pics of Cornell's other goals posted offsite at http://www.howard.photosite.com/CornellUMass/

Thanks for sharing your photos, Bill.
Just got back from Ithaca.
That was heartbreaking. I feel so bad for the seniors.
Massachusetts deserved to win. They exposed almost all of Cornell's weaknesses, as Fred said.
Sure, there were some uncharacteristic mental hiccups (most of them from Cornell's upperclassmen), but that mustn't obscure the fact that Massachusetts' players had superior skills in certain key areas. It's most obvious at the faceoff X, of course, but if you taped that game and watch it in replay, focus instead on the stick skills of Massachusetts' close defenders. Or watch that guy Jacovina, Massachusetts' designated ball carrier -- he is a ground ball machine and clearmeister.
Don't waste any energy getting upset about Cornell's draw.
Next year Cornell has the potential to be a truly great team.
Hard to argue the draw did us in since we had home field advantage ... something we did not have the last two hockey NCAAs.
Perhaps there was irrational exuberance in the wake of the 13-1 pasting of Army and the 11-7 defeat of then #2 Duke that blinded us to some of the issues facing the team that you pointed out.
But it felt as if we could still overcome those problems for the first and perhaps the second weekend of the lacrosse tournament. I really wanted to see Cornell vs. Hofstra.
O Fortuna.
