I mean he is a yalie, so this isn't a shock. But its funny nonetheless. [http://www.doonesbury.com/strip/dailydose/]
Cornell is mentioned in the previous days strip.
What's Rensselaer? ;-)
check the comic the day after that one, they mention RPI and RIT (I read them a few days ago in the Daily Sun)
An interesting little backstory:

Jesus, has Trudeau been even remotely funny, even once, since 1975?
Jesus, has Trudeau been even remotely funny, even once, since 1975?
Yes, you crank-box. It isn't consistent but - and I hate to burst your bubble about this - he was inconsistent during Vietnam also.

While the date seems wrong, the link works - and its the official one:

Does Bill Gates have some sort of affiliation with Harvard? In the 5/9 strip, he called on their behalf. You'd think after he ponied up that dough to Cornell, he'd be on the good guys' side. Unless he's also given big bucks to Harvard (probably has - who hasn't?).

He attended Harvard and turned pro during his Junior year.
Reading the Blowback section can be more entertaining than the strip.

Read "Trout Fishing in the Reflecting Pool" and get back to me.
I can remember thinking, when he took his sabatical, "stay down, Rock, stay down!" The updating the characters bit, which now appears to be well into its 3000th year, has never worked. The strip should be renamed "The Precious Beltway Hipster Who Never Grew Up."
Agnew was right, and that's saying something. A nattering nabob.

Straw poll. Cornell losing handily. Stuff if you care or have nothing better to do, I guess...
This Rensselaer place...I wonder if they're anywhere near RPI? "building a world class supercomputing center?" How about a school that already HAS a world class supercomputing center. And don't even get me started about mentioning nanotech under this school rather than another one on the list.
Cornell: well, the transnational buzzword apparently stuck. Oof...we've got the Wolfowitz stigma? Reno, Ginsberg, and Dryden. They trump Wolfowitz and Bettman, right?
MIT: um...aw crap.
Clearly, RPI's running some kind of script. :-(

Yeah, well, we're the ones with the world class supercomputing center. Geez, you nerds... fix it!

Notwithstanding the fact that I think your description of Cornell was somewhat less flattering than those of RPI and MIT, I sure hope you don't end up deciding where to send Alex purely based on the numbers in the current Straw Poll. You must realize by now that there are people capable of gaming these polls with scripts, so the results don't accurately reflect anything other than who cheats best. Whether that says something about the talent of Cornell's coders or their ethical standards, I'll leave as an exercise for the reader. ;-)
Anyway, this whole saga has been a lot of fun for us Cornell alumni, and although I suspect you'll probably end up sending Alex to Walden despite her protestations, we do appreciate the publicity!

Having Bill Maher helps... I read that they are actually good friends.
http://www.doonesbury.com/strip/faqs/index.html It's hard to fathom that they will go by the poll, but nevertheless the link states at the end that Alex is going to MIT.
I suppose that just like not getting Chris Huxley, RPI might be better off for losing this one.
And congrats for winning Miss Congeniality. ::rolleyes::
We'll take it. Our main facetime area is called "Ho Plaza." Clearly, we are not proud.

Rachel Trudeau graduated from that school in New Haven last Monday. Boola, boola.
Bow wow wow!
