How can both Cornell and Clarkson make it? Isn't there a rule in the new ECACHL playoff system that says that those two teams must meet in the Quarterfinals?
It is pretty amazing that over the entire history of Cornell hockey, 2004-06 is the only time they've met the same opponent in the same round of the ECACs for three years running:
http://www.tbrw.info/games/cornellECACSeries.html
2002-06 is the first time Cornell has faced an opponent in the same round in 4 out of five seasons -- and in the finals, of all places.
Notable streaks of meeting an opponent, in any round, in successive ECACs:
3: 3-0 66-68 BC
4: 4-0 66-69 BU
4: 2-2 78-81 Providence
3: 2-1 95-97 Clarkson
4: 3-1 00-03 Harvard
3: 2-1 04-06 Clarkson (active)
Cornell has now met Harvard 6 times (4-2) in the last 7 seasons -- also a record.
The record for consecutive round-wins over an opponent is 5: Clarkson (73, 76, 77, 85, 86 -- broken in the 88 upset at Lynah), and a perfect lifetime record against BC (66, 67, 68, 73, 80)
The longest active round-win streak is 4: RPI (97, 98, 02, 03), and a perfect lifetime record against Yale (85, 86, 92, 02).
The record for consecutive round-losses to an opponent is 3. SLU (89, 91, 92 -- broken by the First Round road win in 95), and BU (71, 72, 74 -- broken by the consy win in 79).
The longest active round-loss streak is 2: SLU (00, 01, running their recent record to 5-1 -- bleech!), and Princeton (that miserable "interregnum" of 98, 99), and one that's not going to be broken any time soon -- UNH (77, 79).
But didnt we break the Princeton streak in '01? ("Hey Supermom, you're not a mom, you're a whore!")

Yep.
"You're not a dirty two-cent superwhore, you're a syphilitic street walker."
"You're not a syphilitic street walker, you're a sieve."
Wow, there was alot of that I forgot. I just remembered whore and 2-cent whore.
Someone voted for Brown. Bastards :-(
Dartmouth only ahead of RPI by 3 votes? What is wrong with people?
Several of us appear to be posting the thinnest gruel in hopes of keeping the season alive for a few more weeks. (I should not cast the first stone.)

RPI has a few more fans than Dartmouth does. Also, some of us have more faith in other teams than we do in Dartmouth. But, it's the ECAC(HL), which means anything can happen.
if only this was like rugby, then we could have a southern hemisphere that would start to pick up just about the time the northern one was winding down. in this world we could at least talk hockey all year.
Sadly, i think that we are to the point that if one of us were to post a player's family recipie for chocolate chip cookies that would count as post worthy news for a week.

The AIHL season will be starting soon. Here's a refresher for last season's results:
