3-0 BC...

BC announcers say the ND has offensively dominated the period... but, oh well :-P

(shots ND 12, BC 5 - 3 PPs for ND)

I can't really believe that one of the analysts before the playoffs said Parise was the best goalie in the NCAA. He is looking mighty shaky out there right now.

Who am I supposed to cheer for in this game? I can't bring myself to cheer for either one? I guess I'll go for the usual "OT OT, fight fight fight!" cheer..

I hate the WCHA? (except Wisconsin)

And if Wisc can't win it, I'd want it to be an eastern team.

Plus, I'm near Boston.

So... go Eagles :)

Yeah, it was Bob Norton who said it.  But at least he just mentioned in the intermission report how well Schneider looked.  The 3rd goal was a pretty tough break coming off a deflection.  When I saw it in real time it looked gorgeous.  On the replay it still looked pretty but also lucky.

Hard to imagine rooting for North Dakota, but against BC...

I'm rooting for North Dakota.

Now, if BC and Maine make the final, I'm rooting for the bradley roof to collapse.

norton says it "took alot of grit for wisconsin to get by cornell. it was a real streetfight."

this is the same guy who gave us absolutely no respect in the tourney selection process and analysis.

1-0 Wisc on a deflection in off a Maine player, half way through the first

Maine with a shorthanded odd man rush, save Elliott, turns into an odd man rush the other way and Wisco gets the PP goal... 3-1 Wisco

Let's go Red!  (sic)

Did I miss something, or did the Wisconsin guy not even touch the Maine guy he allegedly pushed into the goalie?

Do we know who the ref is?
Title: Re: Frozen Four semis
Post by: DeltaOne81 on April 06, 2006, 09:43:03 PM
Dunno who the ref is. One of the linesmen is from the ECAC.

And Elliott being Elliott again :)

3-1 Wisc after 2

It's really strange rooting for a red team with a great goalie named Elliott and having it not be Cornell.  But I'm definitely rooting for them.  I turned on the TV just before Wisconsin scored the shorthanded goal, and startled the cat cheering for the goal.

I really hate the off-season!

We got two more days until the off season ;)

I'm sitting here rooting for Wisco, being happy for Wisco, and being really pissed at the same time.  ::nut::  ::help::

I was working in my office, so I posted the audio link for anyone else in a similar predicament.  I couldn't resist, though, so I went home and watched.  Great hustle and effort by Wisconsin.  I am rooting for one more for them.

Their band was kah-razy!  And they had like a row and a half of crazy people (hypothesized to be bandies who couldn't bring their instruments) dancing in front of them.  And two poor BU fans sitting with their arms folded in the middle of that.

I noticed all of that.  The student sections certainly got into their power-play chant-jumping up and down while singing/chanting.  Those kids rocking back and forth had to be with the band.  No other fans look that nuts.  :-)

The only thing I wondered- why did so many of the Wisconsin fans wear sunglasses?  There were enough of them that there must be some significance.

The band played a fun tune that  I think our band could borrow.  I can't think of it now, but it was familiar to me and would be fun and easy to get into at a hockey game similar to the way we get into Gary Glitter .  I will try to notice tomorrow.

By small steps we shall cannibalize the traditions of other bands to create the super-band amalgam.  Your repertoire will be assimilated.  Resistance is futile.  Bwahahaha.

Its just a jump to the left...
and a step to the ri-ii-ii-ii-ight

Put your hands on your hips...
and pull your knees in tiiight

And its the pelvic thrust,
that really drives 'em insa-aa-aa-aane

The bendy thing definitely wasn't limited to the band in Green Bay...though I suspect it's mostly a student thing.  We had lots of fun making fun of them two weeks ago :)

I still wish I had a $1.00 for every pair of the red-white striped overalls/painter pants that we saw in Green Bay. They were awful.

Possibly.  At the time I wasn't paying much attention.  I just thought to right it in today.  The Time Warp is a fun song, so it would be good to add to our set.

The replay they showed from directly overhead didn't show the push because it happened before they were in the frame, but the push definitely happened.

Actually one of the spring '03 conductors bought it for our folder.  It's not something we play every weekend, but it comes out a few times a year.  We don't play it nearly as... er... enthusiastically, however.

It's amazing how much respect the Wisconsin game has brought us from the college hockey community.  Just walking around Milwaukee yesterday, others noticing my Cornell jersey felt compelled to comment about the game.  Not only were there the "great game" comments from the Wisconsin fans, but a Colgate couple and a Mercyhurst contingent added comments about how they wished we were victorious.  While losing in triple overtime is generally more painful than losing 5-2, this one seems like it has some positive impact.  Perhaps it'll help our recruiting that we proved (at least in Green Bay) that we can play with the best.
