3-0 Maine pp goal

With 1 sec left on a Maine PP, they capitalize again... on another deflection, 3-0.

Wow, maybe Harvard just ran up against the wrong team. And maybe we should be glad we didn't end up as the #2 in Albany :)

FSN-NY is actually showing the game as well (as per the TV listings at least...I haven't actually checked the channel).  Unfortunately due to an NHL game tonight, they are not also showing our game.

I have no probem on a Mac running OS X, 10.4.something, WMP 9.0.0. Watching mainly on DTV, but thought I'd try for ya.

This 3rd goal looked too easy (read lucky).  I think the bounces are definitely going Maine's way, which is not to say they aren't playing a good game.  They seem very relaxed and in control.

Looks like Maine is getting called for something.

Make that 4 on 4

Make that MSU PP and score.

3-1 Maine

Post by: DeltaOne81 on March 26, 2006, 02:45:26 PM
Nope, MSU ends up with the PP (4 min for one team, 2 for another).

MSU cashes in with ~45 sec left in the period, 3-1

Edit: Ooo, off the skate, no kick though, not even a direction, just luck. Definitely a good goal.

I'm running 10.3.9 because I'm a cheap bastard.  Checked my WMP settings, still nothing.

I'm watching on my Mac laptop as well.  I had to pick up some plugin that allows Quicktime to play WMP stuff.  I can't remember what it's called, though.  let me see if I can find it.

It seems you should just be able to go to the Mocrosoft site and pick up "Windows Media Components for QuickTime"  Let me know if you need more info

If you can get the CN8 stream of the Maine-MSU game now, then you can watch the live video stream of them showing the Cornell game.

Again, that's:  http://ne.cn8.tv/channel/channelhome.asp?lChannelID=647

I'll try this but any suggestions on tweaking my settings?

It just seemed to work fine for me once I set it up.  Well, to be fair I tried this to try to get the CBS MarchMadness Internet, and that didn't work at all.  But it worked for CN8 today.  So, I really can't say.

According to the brackets, the winner of this game is Cornell's opponent in the SF, if they find a way to get by Wisco.

MSU almost gets another twice...1 hits the bottom part of the top crossbar and bounces off...and then there was a puck that hit the boards behind the goal and had a funny bounce that the goalie had to scramble to cover as it almost trickled in...

albany sucks.

The third MSU goal was from an incredible angle.  Goalie must have just blown the trajectory -- it looked really soft.
Title: Re: NCAA 3/26
Post by: CrazyLarry on March 26, 2006, 03:47:53 PM
Yeah, you CANNOT allow that shit in.  Beautiful shot, to the far upper corner, but no excuse not to be able to cut that off.

2 goals for MSU in the last 90 seconds of periods.  Lack of mental toughness from Maine.
The third MSU goal was from an incredible angle.  Goalie must have just blown the tranjectory -- it looked really soft.
Just watched the replay on TiVo. It looked like the goalie had the angle OK, but just went down in such a way that the puck was able to go over his left shoulder. Had he stayed on his feet, he would have blocked the shot.

It wasn't the far upper corner, but rather the near upper corner.
                     Andy W.

Edit: The puck may have hit the far upper corner in the net, but the goalie was beat on the near side, not the far side.

Fair enough.  I was trying to make the point it was a good shot, but it would have been even better to hit the near upper corner, so it was a stupid phrasing.  Still, bad goaltending.

Instructive to watch Maine try to protect their third period lead.  I'm so used to the "screw down the lid and suffocate them" that the number of good rushes and set ups this, a very team, gives up with a one goal lead is staggering.
