Anyone e-mailed or called TWCNY yet to see if we can get Saturday's game on? Last year that seemed to work pretty well with the number of us that contacted them. I don't have time today, but I will call them tomorrow. If we get enough people asking for the game maybe we can get the semifinal aired again.
if you post a phone number or an email I would be happy to contact them

Click on contact us and you get a response page. I've also tried calling their number but they have the usual number of "menus" to go through before you can get to somebody that can tell you "that the person in charge of that isn't here so you'll have to call back". I still think that a phone call is more meaningful than an email; old fashioned I know.
It might be useful to mention that it is on Direct TV.
TWC's listed phone number is 315-634-6000
haven't called yet, so i am not sure what to expect, but i will start bugging them...also, i wonder if this will be hard to get since the programing schedule shows TWC will be showing the east regional games...we'll see
posted as a new thread, but i thought i would put it here too:
hey all,
Just talked to TWC and the only way you can get the Cornell-CC game on saturday is if you have the SPORTS TIER digital package with them. The channel is like 200 and something. If you have standard cable, they said to stop by the Ithaca TWC office to pick up a converter box and you can have this set up within a day.
Also, I guess this means any of the local sports bars in ithaca will be able to get the game as well.
there it is.
Just got an e-mail response from TWC:
Thank you for your email. Time Warner Sports, channel 26, will carry the Colorado vs Cornell game however it will be on a tape delay basis due to other programming commitments. We will play the game Sunday morning, 3/26, at 11am. Should Cornell advance we will have the Midwest Regional final live at 5pm.
Please check our website for updated schedules:

Well that's good. I wouldn't want to miss the Post Standard Masters Bowling Finals.
Everyone I know who has these problems solved them years ago by getting DirecTV.
I don't like to be a corporate shill, but DirecTV is really such an enormously better value when compared to cable TV. I had cable for many years, and would never switch back to such a limited offering.
(FWIW, I suspect Dish Network has a similar advantage over cable, so most of this probably applies there as well.)

Yep, I just got Dish because they have a slightly better package for Gainesville than Direct TV. They finished installing it between the first and second periods of the Dartmouth/Harvard game. I told them they should have taken their time and saved me from having to watch the second period of that game. ;-)
The Dish package is almost identical to what I saw someone mention as the DirectTV price, about $5/month fo the sports pack with all the regional sports channels in it.
Just spoke to Time Warner Sports Dept. They will only provide tape-delay of CU vs. CC at 11 a.m. Sunday on channel 26. It will not be offered on the Sports Pack as claimed upthread.
The rationale is that they have been committed "for months" to the Syracuse Crunch game. However, that game is scheduled to start at 7 pm. They are carrying the East Semifinal at 3 pm and Masters Bowling at 6 pm.
It seems to me that they could air the Cornell game, scheduled to start at 5:30, and delay the start of the Crunch broadcast until the end of the CU game.
I have called the general manager of Time Warner Sports and left a message requesting this. His name is Doug Logan, 315-634-6474, email doug.logan@twcable.com.
I would encourage everyone to call/email him and ask that he air the game live and push back other programming. Perhaps if he is deluged with viewer opinion he will change the scheduling!
I never quite understand this argument about enormous value. To me, the only value of satellite presents itself about 3 times a year when everyone wants to watch Cornell hockey. More generally, it has the advantage of the Sports Pack.
I've run through the cost calculator on DirecTV's website numerous, including just now once again, to price out what I get through Time Warner Digital Cable: 2 boxes with all the channels, the HD Tier, HD-DVR, and 4 movie premiums. Costs roughly $110/month. Added it up on DirecTV's site right now: $113/month (after the 3 month promotion ends).
And that's not including the $400 I gotta pay for the HD receiver and DVR box. (And that's just 1. I'm not even sure how to go about getting a 2nd HD-DVR box or what it'll cost).
Explain what I'm missing, because to me $110/month < $113/month + $400.
well i have 10 tvs' , 8 dvr's with every channel they offer and my bill is $99..
also when i go to football games or other places i take my extra dish and a tv/rcvr and instant tailgate..
maybe its a dumb question, but why not just show the game on another channel on TV ? put it on pay per view but dont charge?? it cant be that hard for TW to insert channels into digital cable, they must have test channels they use all the time..

Some of us like to watch college hockey from around the country two or three days a week :). If you're only talking about Cornell hockey, that's one thing. If you're talking about catching college hockey every single weekend, well that's quite another.
And I couldn't care less about HD. No way I'm paying those kind of monthly prices, nevermind the cost for a HD tv. In no way am I criticizing those who do, but its a definite minority.
So if you happen to fall in the college/minor league sports enjoying minorities, and in the non-HD using majority... cable can't hold a candle to satellite.
I just called and left a message on Doug Logan's voice mail (315-634-6474). I said that I was calling in regards to the NCAA hockey semifinals, and that I and many other Cornell fans would greatly appreciate it if we were able to see the broadcast live. I also said we really appreciated that they did this last year for us. I acknowledged the commitment to the Crunch and asked if they might be able to delay the start of that broadcast until the end of our game.

Yep, same here. First game I ever saw in HD was Cornell beating OSU for the Everblades title a couple years ago. Damn does it look good.
Just in case anybody's reading this thread and misses the newer one, TWC is going to show the CU-CC game live on Sat at 5:30.
