Saw no one else start it.
And considering the results, I will never ever start a game thread again. :`(
Also don't know the scoring markings.
Harvard - 1 Frazier PPG. (?)(?)
Harvard - 2 Reese PPG.
Harvard - 3 PPG.
Cornell - 1 Kennedy (Carefoot)
Cornell - 2 O'Byrne
Harvard - 4 Frazier. PPG.
Harvard - 5 (wall). PPG.
weos stream is not working for me. is it working for anyone? this is very disappointing and i dread having to use gameslacker
Pelle for Harvard went down after a hit by Cam. Don't know if it's serious, but it looks like his ankle
PP for harvard
Harvard on the PP.
Kennedy for INterference
I've got weos audio
yeah the weos stream is working fine for me, it's been up for about 5 min
1-0 Harvard
Frasier took a carom off the endboard and slid it by the left of McKee. at 15:30 with 27 sec left on the PP.
Assists to McCafferty and Reese
If you can't get any other feed, the Harvard feed is working and free, although you have to bear with their announcers...

Harvard outshooting CU 7-1
11:23 left
Some offense lately, but Harvard is definetly outplaying us.
:-( LGR!!
woo...McKee gives up a bad rebound, but ends up holding onto it.
Harvard on the PP in the process.
5x3 for Harvard
Pegoraro for a hit from behind.
1:35 of 5x3 time
Pegs takes a STUPID penalty to put CU down 5X3.
5x3 coming up ::uhoh::
puck cleared...1:00 left
2-0 5 hole.
damn...2-0 Harvard
Reese with 5 seconds left on the 5x3
Johnson and ? on the assists
Dammit!!!!:-(
Pegs penalty over
I am never starting one of these again. :`(
3:40 left. TV timeout.
Red at least had it in the offensive zone for awhile. No good opportunities, though.
Another Cornell penalty...I didn't even see it it happened so fast after the break
EDIT: Barlow for tripping
PP killed. McCutcheon with a shorty shot right at the end of it
Harvard outshooting us 15-3. Penalty on Bitz.
ANOTHER penalty? This is sad...
Bitz penalty for charging
Argh
3-0 Harvard.
Murphy on a weak side rebound.
WTF?? ::help::
Cornell can't play its game when the entire period is one long penalty kill. Obviously.
End of period 1
Holy damn. Stop taking stupid penalties, guys...
Without a doubt, worst period of hockey I have ever seen CU play. Far worse than the Dartmouth game.
Quite frankly, we need a miracle to win.
OT but Holy Cross is up 5-2 on Bentley
are we playing THAT badly, that we've taken so many penalties and sucks has had none?
::panic:: WTF is going on!! ::panic::
Has Cornell really been that undisciplined? 5 penalties in the 1st? Harvard had none...I'm not watching the game, but I can't buy that. What are they doing?
sure we came in hitting too hard, but pegs didnt deserve to put us down 2. they gotta focus on the basics, our gameplan isnt working and we gotta wait for a power play.
btw, a commercial for cornell? we're down 3-0, and i doubt the big red box is gonna sway anyone
They look incredibly tired. Harvard was outplaying them before any penalties, and the deficit has worsened Cornell's play.
Harvard is very good at holding for just long enough to slow the player down but not getting a penalty. They are also very good with their sticks.
i think the marginal calls have hurt us, and its unusual to have all the marginal calls go against one team.. the first penailty was legit, the bitz one was iffy. and pegs was close but hardly one that usually gets called, didnt see the barlow replay..
harvard is playing well, but not that well..
Here's to a good 2nd period
Schafer is bitching to the Refs.
Harvard already appears to be in the "immediate icing" defense.
Here's to the best second period ever.
PP for Cornell.
Harvard takes down Glover and the ref tries his hardest not to call it, but Schafer yells and gets it.
Why did Scott pass back to OB?
McCutcheon hit from behind into the boards, no call.
Another PP for Cornell. But they need to have it count.
the sad part is those 3 chances we missed were better chances the ones HU scored on..
bitz has to make that shot..
All sorts of weird hops and bounces in this rink, and all of them have benefitted Sucks so far.
Let's stop diddling (ok so maybe we wereb't exactly diddling)...let's score on this PP
Third PP. Not like it's doing anygood.
you have to bury some of these chances from out in front.. we cant count on lucky bounces off the board to score like harvard did..
Time for Topher to put one in
LGR!!
These announcers are tripping all over themselves to be the first to slobber over Harvard.
Quite frankly, Harvard deserves it. Those were three anemic PP's, where they only thing we could do was have a one-timer from far out.
at least if the penalty kill is going giveup goals, this is the game to do it and start another streak.
Harvard on the PP for too many men on the ice :-/
PP for Cornell
Scratch that... 4x4 now
its going to take us 10x the quality chances to score 3 more goals..
I only have audio here, but it sounds like we had quality chances on our short PP there, but just couldn't finish. Unlucky I guess...
seems to be the theme of the season :`(
Kennedy! yay freshmen. let's go red!
KENNEDY!!!! LGR!!!
Kennedy on a smart pass from Carefoot.
And Cornell now on PP.
Good to hear the fans are back to a healthy volume level
Our guys really need to convert their PP's.
O'BYRNE!!!! LGR!!!!!!!!!!!
OB!!!!!
Great one-timer. Harvard PP.
O'Byrne!!! 3-2
OB!!!!!!!!!!
GOALLLLLLLLLLL!!!!
OB from Pok and Pegs
damnit
Hold onto the lead guys!
can the ref get an interferenc penalty on himself..
Sucks 4th PP goal :-(
PP for CU
PP for Cornell. But I'm sick of these phantom calls, and Harvard is doing much better on the PP.
Can you folks give time remaining in the period every so often? Thanks.
ZD
End 2nd
It would be a game, but the PK and PP are killing us.
Can you folks give time remaining in the period every so often? Thanks.
ZD
Will do. End of 2nd now.
Can you folks give time remaining in the period every so often? Thanks.
ZD
Will do. You can probably hear the Harvard radio feed if you want to keep up yourself. (---<<< Free Audio).
we need more 5 v 5 time. the freshman need more ice time to give us that energetic lift. Can we decline the pp?? ::help::
maybe now you will all shut your F*$^#&%$ traps hahahahahaha
the announcers said they didn't have cam (i think) abbott on their roster, can anyone with video tell if both abbotts are there?
Can't tell if cam is around, but Kindret has had a bit of ice time...someone must have given up their spot for him
k thanks :-)
maybe now you will all shut your F*$^#&%$ traps hahahahahaha
Gloat if you want once the final buzzer sounds, but this game isn't over yet.
rough em up(but don't get penalized) and go CU!
Third period underway
PP over 1833 left
Haffner late hits Mugford. PP for CU. We really need to convert, we are 0 for 6.
Another CU PP, 1636 remaining
Can't win doing that.
Penalty on Gleed.
I can't stand the robbotically retarded voices of WHRB, but it's better than nothing
5 PP goals.
argh. HU sucks tonight???
for all the work cornell does to get a pP goal with no luck and harvard gets 3 on nothing but bouncing pucks..
Absurd bounce on that one. Nothing could be done. :`(
i just hope we lose with more pride in ourselves than dartmouth--sorry for being pessimistic
this ref has totoally lost his mind..
Feola has certainly put his fingerprints all over the game.
the last buzzer hasn't sounded yet...
maybe it isnt much,, but the fact we have played from behind all night and taking chances yet not giving up any even strength stuff is a good sign.. we wont give up 5 PP goals next week even on a bad night.. harvard has generated very little even strength stuff..
Number 6, an even strength. Quite frankly, I'm doing my law school HW right now.

You spoke too soon :-P
To some extent, you have to hand to to HU. It's evident that they've been hell-bent on scoring goals.
Chabot's in.
Awful for Dave to get a shutout last night, and have a pretty bad game this night.
Hopefully, we'll meet and beat Harvard for the NCAA championship. :-P

It will just suck for the ECACHL when they lose to some scrub in the first round of the NCAA tournament ::yark::
Chabot comes in. I feel terrible for Dave McKee, but....he hasn't been stellar
Harvard on PP for next min. 7:30 left in 3rd
4:37 to go, Cor PP begins
Can't tell if cam is around, but Kindret has had a bit of ice time...someone must have given up their spot for him
Cam's playing, but Chris isn't. Big hit on face-offs, among other things.

Not gonna happen. This team has had problems scoring goals all season and once again it cost us. If you take away two of Harvard's goals as being dumb luck, which I do, its still a 4-2 score. Good offenses are going to find a way to score 3 or 4 goals against you and scoring 1 (last night) or 2 (so far tonight) goals against a high powered, and in this case an on fire offense, just isnt going to win you many games.
nananana nananana hey hey hey goodbye!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hahaha, wow...
Goodbye? We're both going to the tournament.
Wait. Harvard has a fan? ::screwy::
I was joking.
The lack of offense is this team's big weakness. When Dave and the defense have off nights (and they do), this will happen.
Edit: The glaring weakness of the last two weeks has been the horrible PP. That unit needs to become much more effective. We've had games where we have gone 0 or 1 for 11.
Goodbye? We're both going to the tournament.
Where Harvard's recent performance has been abysmal.
Wait. Harvard has a fan? ::screwy::
I was at the third Harvard St. lawrence (8-4) game at Bright on Sunday and there were, no kidding, not more than 400 to 500 people in the entire rink.
These tools now find the time to crawl out of their holes but its back into the hole next weekend.
just got back. glad we could make it. unfortunately it was not a great game to watch if you are a cornell fan. the first period was one of the worst periods of hockey I have witnessed cornell play (how many times have I said that this season?). That combined with hahvahd playing well and cashing in on their opportunities -> 3-0 deficit. cornell turned it up the rest of the game. the breakaway goal was sweet. the missed empty net on the pp had it gone in would have made the game 3-1, and if the other two goals had occurred it would have been 3-3. hahvahd was quicker to the puck, got the bounces and played a better game to get the lead and then just cashed in on 2 crazy goals and another loose puck in fron of the net. there were seriously at most 20 hahvahd fans at the game, not couting the band.
if any SUCKS bandies are here, the "warm up the gorge" cheer was classless.
lets hope the team picks up their heads and wins some games out of their likely #8 spot against michigan.
LGR!
Everything went wrong for us today. Everything.
1) The rink was an NHL lined rink, with the new blue lines. Larger offensive zones mean more offense, and this really hurt us, espcially because...
2) Feola was awful. Like, unbelievably awful. This had to be the worst officiating I've ever seen. Given I've only been following Cornell for a couple years, but still. He made all sorts of ridiculous calls against us in the 1st period (the interference on Sasha where Sasha didn't make contact with the player, who was diving into the net for a rebound, for example.) Then he tried to make it up to us in the 2nd, only to make a bad call on Krantz for hooking at the end of the period. Then he went back to penalizing us for any contact in the 3rd. The line judges also refused to drop the puck on faceoffs, leading to Pegs getting tossed out of the circle often, directly causing Harvard's momentum-killing 4th goal. Feola screwed us, and then made it up to us with calls that were honestly unfair for us, then screwed us again. And last...
3) No Chris Abbott. After I realized he wasn't dressed, I thought about what Abbott does for the team. He anchors a line that has beaten the stuffing out of everyone it plays. He solidifies the 2nd powerplay line, which was pathetic tonight. And he's one of our best penalty killers. No coincidence that this was our first game where our penalty kill sucked (did it against Dartmouth? I don't remember...)
Add these together, we barely stood a chance. If Abbott's not back for the NCAA's, things look grim.
Quit the whining, you got handily beat by Harvard, Cornell just sucked the big fatty tonight! =) BC's going to crush you as well, so unpack your golf clubs, your season is over.

We're gonna reach the Final Four? Awesome!

Keeping in mind that it is playoff hockey time, any general news on Chris? Did he get hurt in the Colgate game? or in the early part-warm-up of this game? I missed the pre-game and the first 10 minutes. Hopefully they kept him out for "precautionary" measures, knowing that we were pretty much assured a 5-8 seed and where exactly we end up would ultimately be decided by the committee.
One other thing. McCutcheon was fantastic tonight. Had a few great breakaways that led to Harvard taking penalties. Bitz also looked solid. Besides, this wasn't an official Cornell game. Seminoff stayed out of the box.
One other thing. McCutcheon was fantastic tonight.
No question.
Killer was the fourth goal, coming right after O'Byrne made it 3-2 and momentum appeared to have shifted. It looked like Harvard scored it off the same offensive-zone face-off play that they used to get the second goal (by Meintel) at Lynah. Fool us twice, shame on us.
i agree that the officiating was aweful. BUT the penalties of the third all looked legit except the charging call, it looked to me like he didnt take enough strides or leave his feet to get that call. the other calls in the 1st were STUPID penalties. the hooking call was bogus that gave them their pp and eventual 4th goal. feola missed a lot of calls both ways, though. including a few dangerous hits. cornell was outplayed though.

Yeah, that was the faceoff where the linesman threw out Pegs and then the Harvard guy from the face-off. Cam Abbott, who replaced Pegs, did not look set on the draw. I thought he just should have tied up the puck and the player rather than trying to win the draw.
In the Lynah game, Meintel scored the goal from McKee's right taking a pass across the front of the crease. It looked to me from the overhead view that last night McKee kicked his right leg out to stop a similar pass to the left winger who again was just to McKee's right. This time it appeared the puck was on goal and deflected off the inside of McKee's right leg and through the five-hole.
That goal was the crusher, and we clearly didn't learn from the experience at Lynah. Going into the third down by one and on a two-goal streak could have changed the complexion of the game.
