Post by: TShen on March 17, 2006, 04:24:55 PM
FSN North is showing WCHA SF 1 now.  Score is UND 2 WIS 2 at the first intermission.  UND scored their 2 goals just before the break.

Anyone getting the WEOS Radio broadcast of the first semifinal in Albany?  It just sounds like NPR.

Edit: 30 seconds later, they magically swapped the broadcast and it's playing.

Try whrb.org. They usually carry the Harvard hockey games.

Edit: Confirmed. whrb is carrying the game, dartmouth wins the opening face-off.

Did anyone post a cheat sheet for "who to route for" (I don't have time to scroll through all the scenarios posted on the PWR thread)?  ::help:: I think we want Minny and Wisconsin to meet in the WCHA finals. So far, not so good.  ::uhoh::

Absent other results this doesn't do much but all of the scenarios suggested such as Cornell getting in despite losing two games and Cornell getting a 1 seed were made with Wisconsin winning.  As of now we're in 6th and losing the ND comparison.  ND is in 8th.

Guess the "defensive forward of the year" didn't show up either.

Wasn't somebody ten or so days ago trying to tell us how good Devine was?

As an OT aside, Troy Nickerson will wrestle for the 125 pound championship tomorrow night against Joe Dubuque of Indiana.

Quick PWR update:

Root against North Dakota. They are the only team that can hurt us from my rough calculations. Regardless of who wins this WCHA game or the ECACHL, if North Dakota wins Cornell is heading west on a 3/2/1 bonus.

On a 33/22/11 A Cornell win puts them in Albany with MSU at number 5, and a loss puts them west.

On any other bonus higher (or lower) than 33/22/11 Cornell appears to be stuck in 7th and headed west regardless of the ECACHL result.

It is still impossible to figure out every permutation, but these are the most likely outcomes as of right now.

If you look up about 15 posts I put up a summary.

It really comes down to Cornell winning and whatever the bonus is. If Cornell loses, they are most likely west. If they win with a 33/22/11 bonus, they are most likely east. Any other bonus seems to doom Cornell to 7th and the west.

I ran a few and got BU up to 2 in which case 7 put you in Worcester.  Not sure if I can work it to get Cornell as the 7 and BU at 2.

    * WCHA Championship game: St. Cloud State defeats North Dakota.
    * WCHA Consolation game: Wisconsin defeats Minnesota.

Puts Holy Cross in the last non AQ spot ahead of UHN ( ::laugh:: ) and Cornell in Worcester as No. 6 with 33/22/11 or 3/2/1. Even if UND wins here on either bonus, Cornell is in Worcester as No. 6.

This is not an unthinkable scenario either.

After watching this afternoon's game, I wouldn't bet the farm on Dartmouth. ::worry::
