Title: DC Viewing this Weekend
Post by: Josh 03 on March 15, 2006, 05:21:55 PM
Friday, March 17th, 8PM
Buffalo Billiards, 1330 19th Street NW (Dupont Circle)
ECACHL Semifinals vs. Colgate

We can't reserve a room, but will be able to get the game on at least one TV.  If we achieve our standard numbers of 100+, they have told us we should be able to take over a private room.  The more people we have, the earlier they get there, the better of we'll be, so if you can, please come by 7:30 or earlier and catch some BBall and Happy Hour drink prices, which last until 8.  Wear Red and White and gather in the Adirondack Room!  This is a FREE event!

*Saturday, March 18th, 8PM
McFaddens, 2401 Pennsylvania Ave NW (Foggy Bottom)
ECACHL Finals vs. Dartmouth/Harvard

This game watch is contingent on Cornell winning the Semifinal game on Friday night.  Check http://www.uscho.com/schedules to confirm.  Same deal as the last 3 games here.  1/2 price burgers and salads.  $2 beers.  $4 mixed drinks.  The place fills up!  You better get there early/on time for a seat!  Free for CCW members, their guests, and undergrads.  $5 for non-members.

No need to RSVP.  Please let me know if you have any questions.

Good job.  Hopefully these or other placs will be available if/when we have NCAA games.

UPDATE FOR FRIDAY

Cornell Hockey fans will gather at Mister Days in Arlington to watch the ECAC Semifinal Game vs. Colgate at 8PM.
We will no longer meet at Buffalo Billiards.

*Free Parking in garage at 3033 Wilson Blvd (corner of Highland & Wilson, "catty corner" from Metro Station. Enter garage from Highland side).

Where did it used to be in DC? It's been in Clarendon/Arlington for at least 3 years now.

The main location used to in the alley in between L and M & 18th and 19th Streets. It was infamous as the District's Packers bar (literally hundreds of cheeseheads would gather there starting early Sunday mornings to get the best seats). They opened up a branch location in Clarendon about five-seven years ago -- and a few years later the main location closed.

[/quote]That's what I remember. I went there to watch the Saints but the Packer fans got the big screen with audio. Even if the Redskins were playing at the same time, IIRC.

I just moved to the area.  How difficult will it be for me to jump on the metro and find this place?

Posting at 11:39 pm. then don't bother hoping on the metro and trying to find the place!  The game is over and Cornell won!

But hop on the metro on Saturday night and head to McFadden's.  Orange or Blue to Foggy Botttom/GWU.  Northwest side of the circle.  Not hard to find at all.  Let's Go Red!

I was splitting shifts between watchin Walk the Line with the my friends, and catching updates on the game thread.  ::worry:: ::yark::  Yeah, I think I'm ready for a real crowd.  Besides, I need to break in my jersey!

EDIT:  One more question / request / suggestion.  Can you or someone bring info on CCW?
