LGR!!!! any news of interest for tonights game?
So do we get to carry over the extra goal from yesterday and start with a 1-0 lead?
I'll be looking for two things as far as the lineup goes. First, I would be surprised if Glover played so I'm interested to see if it is Salmela or Davenport who gets the nod in his place. Salmela really impressed me early in the season, but he has struggled badly over the last month. Davenport has played very little, but I liked him during the CD weekend and he is more of a replacement for Glover than Salmela is in that he is much more similar of a player. Second, I'm wondering if Schafer leaves Scott on the top line and Carefoot on the fourth line as they finished last night. Scott was the team's best player last night and really seemed to light a fire under that top line when he was moved there.
I expect O'Byrne and Pokuluk to play a lot better tonight now that they have gotten that one game under their belts. Really interested to see how Clarkson comes out tonight, but if Cornell does their job, I honestly don't think it will matter.
The CSTV cast kicks in atypically early and we can hear Roll; I missed Schafer -- did anybody hear him?
No, I missed Schafer, too.
Roll was pretty complimentary of Cornell and seemed very frank - not trying to hide behind cliches.
I have finally subscribed to All-Access. Let's hope it's worth it.
Speaking of which, did the video just die?
I had the radio playing but was half paying attention--the only bit I caught was when Jason asked Schafer whether the team was feeling 100% after such a long game. Schafer essentially said the players prided themselves on being well-conditioned, but there's really no way to tell until game time.
I have finally subscribed to All-Access. Let's hope it's worth it.
Speaking of which, did the video just die?
Yes, but it's back now.
Apparently Clarkson has at least two injuries from last night -- one F and one D. I missed both names, though.
Bitz to the box for roughing.
PP now.
Cam Abbott held back from making a 2 on 1, but then draws a penalty on a later offensive attack.
CU PP now. 4x4 for 22 seconds.
Sounded like dodge had a good chance there. 2 mins into the period, 1 min left on PK.
NOW it is a PP ;)
another Clarkson penalty.
BITZ!!!!
Bitz PPg!
Anyone else having trouble signing on to the all acess acount. the video will not come up? help
Don't know if this is ordinary done, but thanks for the replays.
Replay! Yes!
My video is great, but the audio is "sputtering". I'm using the Clarkson audio now which is about 1 minute behind the video. Makes for an interesting game ;-)
Great focus on Bitz's part, he was literally grabbed around the neck and he still stuffed that puck behind Leggio.
Penalty on Abbott, PK coming.
RichS is wetting his pants, Abbott to the box for interference on the faceoff.
I assume that everyone on the web is finding Clarkson's audio static-y. True?
Give it time. By the end of the game it'll probably be 2+ minutes of gametime, and maybe 3-4 minutes of real time, behind. I saw the Sawada post on eLynah long before I heard the call last night.
also running on a slight delay it seems
RichS is wetting his pants, Abbott to the box for interference on the faceoff.
Don't bother trying to bait him. He is probably at the game.
Wetting his pants.
I assume that everyone on the web is finding Clarkson's audio static-y. True?
Yep.
PK'ed.
Getting a little chippy in the first. ;-)
PP time.
Clarkson announcers just said 1-0 Sucks over SLUt (over the commercial).

RichS is wetting his pants, Abbott to the box for interference on the faceoff.
Don't bother trying to bait him. He is probably at the game.
Wetting his pants.
Haha. I wouldn't try to bait him if I knew he was here ;)
Cornell to another PP :)
Harvard and Yale up 1-0. Q up 2-1
PP over.
Col 2 Q 2 according to Clarkson guys
What was that?
6:30 left in the first, and McKee lets in a slap shot from center ice.
Oh no.
Mind in the game, Dave.
Maybe it was strategy. He's trying to lure Clarkson into taking all their shots from center ice.
And now Mugford leaves his feet to deliver a check and heads to the box.
USCHO put is on the cover again. That's the problem. ::rolleyes::
Dodge to the box. Time to make up some ground.
Weller to the box.
Another PP ahead...
Just logged on...what is the score? Clarkson 1 Cornell 0?
Weller to the box.
Another PP ahead...
101 PIMs, one of those goons they recruit.
Just logged on...what is the score? Clarkson 1 Cornell 0?
1-1
Sounds like Pelle took a penalty after time expired in the 1st. Still 1-0, but SLUt will start the 2nd on PP.
Quiet in Lynah right now.
Leggio is looking quite good, better than last night so far.
Hopefully Cornell can put some more goals in :)
End of 1 after McKee somehow manages to turn aside a shot from the Red Line.
Are the SOG really 22-3 Cornell as listed on gametracker? ::twitch::
Hey folks ,,, nice that we were able to tie it up after that silly goal. Does anyone know why the scores no longer post in the post-titles as they used to?
Maybe it was strategy. He's trying to lure Clarkson into taking all their shots from center ice.
What shots? The announcers are saying "Leggio" more than they say "puck." I don't think Clarkson has crossed the red line yet and they still have a friggin' goal.
After the game I expect someone to argue that it wasn't actually a soft goal. That person will be either Ari or RichS.
Edited to add: Whatever happened last night, tonight it sounds like Leggio is making Leggio the goalie of the week because the Clarkson defense took the bus back to Potsdam last night.
Are the SOG really 22-3 Cornell as listed on gametracker? ::twitch::
Yes, it really was like that. Amazing. Anybody else hold their breath when Brekelmans shot from half court with 2 seconds to go? ::worry::
SLUt just scored on the PP.
SLUt just scored on the PP.
Sounds like our game. Harvard outshooting SLU 17-5, but the Saints are still tied.
Does anyone know why the scores no longer post in the post-titles as they used to?
The thread initiator (Tim) is the only person who can edit the thread title. I used to starts the threads and update the score, but after the North Country (nearly) Lost Weekend, I retired.
In the future, I'd really like to see Greg doing it again. I am a twinge superstitious, but damn if having a good thread title and start page with scoring information isn't useful.
Couldn't make it all out, but when Pelle took his penalty at 20:00, the Harvard announcers said something about a coach who thinks that if a player takes a penalty like that at the end of a period, he should spend the intermission in the penalty box to think about it. They seemed to agree that Pelle probably deserved that fate.
Bitz to the box. The game is on a loop.
Guthrie to the box for interference, CU to the PP
Nice PP for Clarkson. Cornell a bit lucky to kill it.
SLUt just put in #2
Glover to the box.
2-1 Clarkson
Krantz giveaway.
This has been a Clarkson period so far. Come on, Red!
Brutal giveway by Krantz, and McKee not clutch on that shot (not that it was a real softie, mind you, but we would sure like to see him make a big save there). I did not see the first period tonight, but Clarkson clearly has stepped up its play this period, and Cornell is just flat right now.
Definitely a squeamish feeling right now; it happens so often that you have a team under your thumb but let them squirm free and it comes back to bite you. We have to regroup and reassert ourselves.
Another Krantz turnover almost leads to a great scoring chance
Krantz is really awful. Always has been.
Scott draws a Penalty.
Scott molested all the way on his rush, Cornell headed to the PP.
Great chance here...
Abbott passes up a great shot, no shot on goal.
It looks like Leggio might be in their heads ::worry::
Some great wheels by Pegoraro sets up a great chance. I think we will miss him next year more than we know.
GOAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SCOTT!!!!
Scott!!
That was an amazing goal
Just saw the replay. Beautiful diving goal.
What an amazing effort on Scott's part to get through a hook, hold, and a tackle to sweep that puck in.
And now Clarkson hits somebody after the whistle and Cornell heads on a PP.
The replay :-) showed just how remarkable that goal was. Topher was tied up, and on the way down he was somehow able to backand it past Leggio.
Now PP for Cornell. Let's take control!
End of 2 at Bright, SLU 2, Harvard 1
35 seconds left in the 2nd, FO in Cornell zone.
Well done topher.
'Gate - 4, QU - 3, end 2nd.
Mackey (?) ties it at 0:59 of the 3rd.
End of 2nd a couple minutes ago ;)
I leave the room for a minute and the Big Red tie the game!
Let me know when you think I should leave again.
I leave the room for a minute and the Big Red tie the game!

Now. Come back in mid-April ;)
Note to Clarkson band: Never play Sing Sing again. Ever.
You can actually hear a chant of "Let's go Harvard" over the radio. The 6 fans must be near the announcers.
3rd is underway.
Goaltender Interference to the "non" Goon Weller, and Cornell to the PP.
Rebound hit the post...
What a wild sequence. Bonehead icing by Pokoluk leads to scary Clk flurry. McKee gets knocked down leading to Clk. penalty. We hold great possession time on delayed penalty and have a few great chances. Hit post on PP, now Barlow takes penalty.
PP over, Clarkson to the PP.
McKee big save on Dodge, 20 secs left on CCT PP
Dartmouth 3-1
Colgate 5-3
At least since the second period (I didn't see the first) our passes our much less crisp than last night.
5x3 for CU coming up.
Leggio makes a bunch of saves on a PP flurry, CU headed to a 5X3 for 49 seconds.
Watters just put Sucks ahead.
SLUt couldn't get it done in the end.
The Clarkson announcers have the "Holding? How could you call holding on him? It couldn't be him, he was visiting his poor sainted mother in the nursing home," voice down pat.
Sounds like Cornell is going to have a brief 5x3. They are playing better and, well, this Leggio kid might be a good one.
Schafer TO.
Lets Go Red!
Anyone remember the last time Cornell scored on a 5X3? Seems like they've had quite a few this year without much to show for it.
About 4 seconds of the 5X3 was spent in the Clarkson zone :(
So much for that timeout. Sasha just not very impressive tonight
Yeah, I suspect that isn't exactly what Schafer drew up on the white board.
Sucks wins
PP over.
How many penalties will Clarkson commit? (Not like it's helping us any). ::rolleyes::
Clarkson is going to the box AGAIN for slashing.
Chance 11 for Cornell.
PP over. Clarkson still sucks.
Great effort leading to another PP. We need to convert this one.
How many penalties will Clarkson commit? (Not like it's helping us any). ::rolleyes::
What do you expect when you have a bunch of goons on your team? :-}
I think Tub(a) might be ahead of me.
How we didn't put that one in I'll never know
Seminoff hits the post and they thought they scored... Tubas in the background.
Loud "Die, Drop dead, go home" chant.
But I still don't like the drawn-out "die". It used sounded so much cooler the old way.
Just got home from dinner. How much time left?
Dirty game. Now a Power play for Clarkson.
Cornell to the box. Oh boy.
Hansen hurt. Having a moment of schadenfrude.
Hansen hurt... some idiots are cheering :-(
I think Tub(a) might be ahead of me.
Way ahead.
8:30 to go on my broadcast. 5:30 on Tub(a)'s.
Again our inability to finish is killing us. Story of the year. Now Clk. PP. Hansen down on the ice. Glad to hear the crowd reacts positively when Hansen gets up.
Good hussle by OB and Pegs; they draw a penalty. Wonder if we'll actually convert? ::help::
Pegs gets around a d-man and Cornell heads to the PP.
This is an entirely different Hansen.
How many saves does Leggio have? ::nut::
Another PP goes by the wayside.
McKee almost lets one bounce in off his glove.
Moulson hits the post on a backhand.
2:12 left and the whistle has disappeared. Whatever, Hansen :-(
Can someone update us on the score?
subject line covers it
Can someone update us on the score?
Tied at 2, about a minute left in the third.
OT ::worry::
OT
A nice "oh my god" audible over the Clarkson feed.
This is where newswriters start filling out the template.
For Cornell they have this all set to C&P:
"Failure to capitalize on 12 PP and a weak center ice goal doomed the Big Red"
For Clarkson it looks something like:
"Despite Leggio standing on his head, Clarkson was eventually overpowered by the Big Red."
GWG anybody?
Cornell: Topher
Clarkson: Dodge
In that case, I'm picking ScOTt to do it tonight, just like last year.
LGR!!!
Some observations:
1. Clk penalty kill is smothering -- playing the points (especially O'B) unusually aggressively.
2. Weller and Zaleski have been very good for Clarkson and have caused our defense great difficulty. D has overall been pretty shaky on the passing
3. Last night Clk was just hanging on, and it would have taken a fluke for them to win in OT. Tonight seems much more even at this point, and McKee has been scary on the long shots, even those he has saved.
Gotta go with history and say Scott.
McCutcheon
Cornell: Topher
Clarkson: Dodge
Cornell: Mugford
Clarkson: Dodge
Leggio and Dodge can come play in Ithaca any time AFAIC.
wow i think that louis chabot should play......mckee has been shaky the whole year. i mean Chabot cant be that bad
Back on the ice.
Lets Go Red!
annoncer said weve attempted 81 shots!
i'll take bitz
gametracker has it at 45
81 attempted...45 actual. the others missed or were blocked
I hope Dave M. gets his act together. ::worry::
Good pressure, Leggio makes several saves. Ho hum ;)
Seminoff with dangerous pinch which leads to a sort-of 2 on 1
I hope Dave M. gets his act together. ::worry::
This is a poorly calculated time to begin trolling.
Faceoff deep in the Cornell zone after a Dodge shot is deflected out of play.
stupid freshman!
McKinven confuses Ice for Hot Tub, jumps on Sawada.
penalty?
Clk consistently looking to get the odd-man rush, and almost succeeding on a few occasions.
Anyone else having problems with the feed? It says it can't accept anymore.
Somebody log off. ;-)
No penalty. I don't think you will see one in OT.
We can debate how many tough saves Leggio's had to make, but he is a cool customer
Mugford puts it in, but the whistle blew with the puck not tied up.
Effing. A.
ok i know its the wrong thread, but the damn camera people frame their shots like fat chicks wear their jeans. TOO DAMN TIGHT!!!!!!!!

just to be clear, we're talking about dave not a-hole-scott?
clk bellows 2min crosscheck
CU goes on PP for OT. We are 1/12 for the night.
About time Hansen called something. You don't like to have OT decided on the PP, but the integrity of the game sometimes calls for it
9 min remain in OT, 56 sec on PP
1/14 for the night on PP. ::rolleyes::
Another anemic PP.
1/13
I have never seen so many shots miss the net, notwithstanding the actual shot on goal total
Its ironic how we were upset about lack of Even strength goals and now we don't get any PPG
5:18 left in the first OT.
Its ironic how we were upset about lack of Even strength goals and now we don't get any PPG
Damn ironic Faustian bargain!
Another quick whistle.
Net loose, matching minors.
Matching Penalties on CU, then Seminoff takes a penalty. 4x3 for Clarkson.
Seminoff to the box, Clarkson to the 4X3 advantage.
This will be difficult. I hate 4X3s.
Cornell TO.
Clk to go on 4 on 3 advantage after Seminoff is beaten and has to hold. Most unnerving ::twitch::
freaking frosh
What is the "NCC" the Clarkson annoucers keep stating whenever they talk about a Clarkson PP?
Dodge is on the ice, no penalty call initially.
Dodge is better. Couldn't see what happened on the play, Clarkson gets a bench minor and O'Byrne gets a 5 minute major hitting from behind.
Hansen did not make a call until he saw a player on the ice.
Bull! O'Byrne barely touched Dodge and he gets five minutes plus the game misconduct. Just brutal.
There is no way that Roll could have seen that play happen, it was on the near boards and right along the ice. Good acting job to draw the call though. ::screwy::
3X3 hockey for 17 more seconds. Then 4X4.
Let's get this goal before going down a man!
Huge save by McKee. I don't think he saw it, but well-positioned.
End of 1OT.
There is 3:05 of the major left.
Do we start the 2ot down a man for 3:05? I have neither video nor audio, so you guys are all I've got (and gametracker, which never updates on my machine here). Was the O'Byrne call legit?
im upset with the way things are going.... we need to put the puck in the back of the net. we may take alot of shots but you cant win by not scoring and lets get topher the puck he makes things happen.
Bull! O'Byrne barely touched Dodge and he gets five minutes plus the game misconduct. Just brutal.
Have to disagree. I think it was clear boarding and dangerous, and when they played the replay slowly, it looked like Ryah deliberately lined him up. Deserved.
OB call was very legit
OB got bad louck though- guy was lined up and turned his back jjust as he got hit. Legit call, but unlucky. If the guy hadn't turned just then it would have been a side hit.
But you've still gotta call it
Do we start the 2ot down a man for 3:05? I have neither video nor audio, so you guys are all I've got (and gametracker, which never updates on my machine here). Was the O'Byrne call legit?
Yes, Cornell will be down a man to start the 3rd period.
I don't think you will get a fair opinion from eLynah. The replay I saw showed no actual crime, and Hansen certainly didn't call anything until Roll threw a hissyfit and Dodge was on the ice. People in Lynah probably had a better view of what happened.
TUBA- i am watching the 'cast...and they slow-mo'd the replay. clear x-check in the back from 2 feet away from the boards and the guy did a header.
No debate

The NCAA should start penalizing forwards that turn into a hit to get the hit from behind call.
I'm not saying Dodge did, and I wish to congratulate him on his speedy and miraculous recovery.
So, Cornell plays games at Lynah for 50 years without a double overtime. Then on the final weekend before the refurb, they play them back-to-back. ::nut::
Thanks Tub(a). I just get pretty aggravated at the stupid penalties we take - and when you go 1-13 on the PP, these inevitably are the straws that break the camels' backs.
I'm not saying Dodge did, and I wish to congratulate him on his speedy and miraculous recovery.
He didn't do that. And the penalty is for the danger of injury, not the actual injury.
I see the game with Carnellian glasses too, but that call was totally legit. Let's just pray they survive it, because the Red are dominating this game.

McCutcheon JUST missed Abbott with a 2 on 1 pass, Clarkson comes down and takes a shot that deflects out of play.
Just missed on that pass to Pegs(?). I think that might have done it if we connected.

Actually 10 in the first OT 1 in 2OT
Halfway through the second OT.
C'mon red, end this.
Matching Minors, Mugford and ?
Yippee!
MOULSON!
Pegoraro with THE chance of OT, and Leggio with a great save (I think). Matching minors apparently.

I can sort of sympathize with Leggio. He played a great game, stopping 50 something shots, only to lose in double OT. That being said, he needs to show some poise, he was acting really immature. He was banging the post with his stick, then careening down the ice.
He did calm down a bit, and he and Dave hugged during the end of game handshakes.
so i take it cornell won.... GREAT!! i have tix for the ECAC in ALbany i am so excited for that....the only time i cried was at the ECAC in 2000 i think and mccrae scored to tie against harvard in the champion ship game with 3 seconds left...ofcoarse i was only 10 but still, i live for cornell.
Was it anything like Matti Kaltiainen slamming his stick into the ice after double OT in Providence in 2003?
We win!! Moulson in front of the net gets the rebound and tucks it past Leggio. Good way to end his senior season. Better if he raises them in at eh Frozen Four. Albany bound. Woooooohh

It was a legit major. Dumb move on OB, but Roll's throwing of the clipboard helped us out a bit.
