Title: Out of town scores: Playoffs
Post by: Mike K on March 03, 2006, 07:42:48 PM
Qu 2 RPI 1 final

Princeton 1 Clarkson 2 Final

Yale 2 Union 1 Final OT

Brown 2 St Law. 3 Final OT

RPI takes the loss, that couldnt be better for cornell. Now they probably wont become a tuc.

Yale pulls an upset.

Slu got down 2-0 in the second but rallied to win 3-2 in ot.

Clarkson got a 3rd period goal to win 2-1.

Announcer just said that another reason why the attendance at Cheel is so low tonight is that students don't pay for tickets during the regular season and now they have to pay $12.  They give students tickets there and still don't fill the arena during the regular season?  Yikes!

LGR!

haha its so sad. I wonder why cornell has always had such great fans. Its not a very popular sports in most schools. Maybe its because its the only sport were good at:-D  jk

Well first off, it's definitely not the only sport we're good at, but I get your point.  Second of all, not too too long ago we weren't filling Lynah.  So be careful how quick you are to judge.

Quinnipiac holding a 2-0 lead on RPI after 2.

So, if these results held up, we'd have:

2-Col v 10-Qpc
3-Cor v 8-Clk
4-Hvd v 5-SLU

That's not good.  (Clarkson a TUC)

I'm sure that'll give the boys some extra motivation if Clarkson comes to Lynah next weekend.  "Well, it is the Quarterfinals, but I just don't know if I'm motivated for the series.  What's that?  If we don't win, then Clarkson's RPI goes up enough to keep them a TUC?  That will probably flip 2 or 3 comparisons - let's go win one for the Gipper!"

Slightly OT, but nowhere else to put it:

DU goes up on CC 3-2 with about 130 left in the game. looks like DU gets an even bigger boost vs us in the PWR assuming this holds up.

EDIT:  I speak too soon. CC ties it 6 on 5 with under a minute left.

Final Edit:  3-3 tie

The Clarkson feed through iTunes was very good. I stayed connected to that station all night long. I fell asleep I the middle of the 2nd (right after the Princeton goal) and woke up at 6:30am to classic rock.

It was better than what I woke up to after  falling asleep to the St.Louis-Edomonton NHL game which was the "Trucker's Network"!

Every time one of these pissing contests start I write out a post telling everyone to shut up and stop being childish. Then I realize that nobody will listen to me and just cancel the post. This time, however: EVERYONE SHUT UP. Its damn annoying having to read you all piss and moan over the same arguments every day. Its not even entertaining anymore. Every exchange is as formulaic as an episode of Scooby Doo though twice as painful to listen to because at least on Scooby Doo half the characters change each episode so they at least pretend to keep things different.

Cool thing this morning.  The Yale-Union game made the sports news on local radio this morning.  KCBS out of San Francisco, CA!  I bet that's the first time "college" and "hockey" have ever been used together on that station.
