My friends and I are driving to Colgate for tomorrow's game. For those with experience, what is the best route to take coming from Ithaca? We'd like to avoid the small roads, if possible. Also, how long does it generally take to get there, assuming decent weather conditions? Finally, any recommendations on where to grab something to eat before the game? Thanks.
There's no good way from Ithaca to Hamilton. And it always takes longer than you think it will. Give it at *least* an hour and a half, and thats if you don't really plan to eat before the game.
Most direct route:
Route 13 through Cortland, right on Route 80, left on Route 26, right onto Route 46, continue straight on 12B which will take you straight through Hamilton and by Starr Rink (on your right).
Hamilton is a one-horse (and one-light as far as I can tell) town. I know there's a Subway before you hit the 'center' of Hamilton. There's a pizza joint or two at the one light.
If you want an easier route, less direct, but faster roads - definitely use this if there's any chance of snow, or probably even rain:
Take Route 13 to Cortland, to I-81 north, to Route 20 East (dunno the exit number to Route 20, but its apparently in Lafayette, NY). Go a ways on Route 20, right onto Route 46, continue straight onto Route 12B... and continue as above.
TBRW? used to have great snarky directions to Hamilton. :`(
there is also a mcdonalds in the hamilton area as well. funny story from that place relating to the mcraes :)
