Title: Pelletier Update
Post by: Josh '99 on October 03, 2002, 10:40:12 AM
I see on NHL.com that JMP has been left unprotected by the Whore-I-Canes in the upcoming Waiver Draft, in favor of Irbe and Weekes.  Perhaps he'll get picked up by a team that has a more immediate need for him?

Dear Mike Milbury,...  ::laugh::

JMP didn't get picked up in the waiver draft.

Yup, though by the time the season starts I have to assume he'll be a Lowell Lock Monster.  I can't imagine Carolina would want to keep him with the big club when he'd get no PT as the third goalie behind Irbe and Weekes.

Matt didn't do as well last Saturday:

One of the Pride's assists was scored by Kyle Kidney, an Ithaca native who went to U Mass-Lowell and played last year for the UHL's Quad City Mallards.

I don't feel like logging in from home.

2 things:

(1) With an assist in the Kings' opening game last night, Brad Chartrand is on pace to score 82 points without scoring a goal.  That would clearly obliterate the record for points in a season without a goal.

(2) Where is Jason Elliott?  He shows up for the Red Wings if you do a player search on ESPN.com, but he does not show up on their roster or the offseason transactions.  He also is not on the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks roster. Does anyone have a clue?

JMP is in goal tonight for the Lock Monsters against the Manchester Monarchs.

Anyone with DirecTV in the Boston area can watch the game on channel 9.  I think it's one of the "local" channels so it's not "telecast" nationally.

7-3 win for the Monsters.  JMP gave up two goals in the first ten minutes and then nothing until a meaningless power play goal (by Eric Healey) in the last minute.  Picked up the first star.

Just noticed this at  http://www.chicagowolfpack.com/

More roster moves!
Posted Thursday 10.10.02
The Atlanta Thrashers have reassigned defenseman Luke Sellars from the Chicago Wolves to the Greenville Grrrowl of the East Coast Hockey League. In addition, the Wolves have signed right wing Judd Medak and assigned him to Greenville and released center Krzysztof Wieckowski.

Still no word on Elliott?  How did he disappear so completely?

I finally found the answer to my question.  Elliott is playing in Finland this year.

And if you speak Finnish, here is his bio on the team page.

Anyone who can find a web translator to convert this page to English, please post it.

Here's the first two paragraphs - yes, this is *after* it was translated!  ::laugh::
