Just posting this here to get the attentional of all the Bostonians and surbananites who may not have noticed the discussion on the other thread.
The Cornell @ Colgate game will be broadcast on ESPNU next Saturday (Feb 4th). We were wondering if anyone wanted to meet for it - I was thinking the Sports Depot again. Its a good location in Allston/easy highway access, has its own parking and maybe we could get the back room again.
But it IS a Saturday night, so we should probably make plans with some time to spare if we're interested.
I get ESPNU at home, so don't need to go into Boston, but I haven't been in Boston since the summerish and wouldn't mind an excuse to make a day of it. Anyone interested? Respond on here and/or PM me.
Thanks,
Fred
Very tempting, but I have this feeling my wife might not take to my blowing off a bunch of her coworkers and their spouses that she invited for a dinner party. Hmmm, this may require some serious thought.

I'd be in, along with at least 2 others. The Depot is pretty convenient for us. Would you think that we need reservations?
May as well make this into the "viewing party thread"...
Anyone in the Western CT area? Could probably make it to anywhere in the Waterbury/Danbury/New Haven area. We don't get ESPNU, ourselves.
yeah, no excuses ;-) ... we've known since the late fall that this game (and hahvahd) was going to be televised. these 2 games have been marked in my calender as soon as the announcement that they were going to be on tv.
if something's going on for boston, please post the final details here
Hey, I agree with you guys about priorities, but an even higher priority is going to Ithaca for the Dartmouth/Harvard weekend. So, if it means hosting a dinner party on some other weekend and missing 'Gate on TV in order to have a little leverage later on, so be it. And Sarah isn't even complaining that we're one ticket short for the Harvard game (I do have a reliable source working on it, though) and she might not get in.
OK, fair enough.
So the only actual 'yes' I seem to have goten about Boston was Winnabago + 2 (and maybe more). I have two and maybe a couple more.
With that number, I could ask for a tv, but probably not the back room or anything. Could you please post here if anyone else is interested?
I think I will make it and have 1-2 others with me
There are some other Cornell alums in the area I will
try contacting by e-mail as well.
Add 2 more to the list
i'm interested also
I'm interested, but I don't know if I can make it. Depends if my bacteria will cooperate. ::uhoh::
Update: we're set with the Sports Depot. He has me down for a group Saturday night @ 7 (or a little before), game on EPSNU.
If we get at least 15-20 people we can stay in the function room in the back. If the group ends up being less than that, they may kick us elsewhere.
By my count on this thread we have a conservative count of: Me + 1, Winnabago + 2, Cornell95 + 1, bdm3 + 1, and A19 = 10. With a good number of maybes. So we'll see.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask me, or call the Sports Depot and ask for John if he's around (its under my name (Fred), and I think he wrote down that its Cornell hockey too).
That's great! I'll be there with at least one other, maybe two.
Someone mentioned on here that it would be a $6 cab ride from Harvard square to the bar in Allston. As with any cab, it could vary GREATLY, particularly in Boston. I always seem to get hit with $15 for seemingly short trips. I would guess that the best way over is to take the Green line "b" from Kenmore to Harvard Ave, and then walk north two long blocks to Cambridge St. The depot is a train station-type building hidden to the right with an illuminated sign out front in the parking lot. It would take at most 10 minutes to walk it.

See you guys there!

I'm brand new to this board but that sounds good to me - I live in Medfield so I'll be driving in.
Bump.
I'm confirming myself and 1-2 others. LGR
Bump... just making sure people see this as the time approaches :)
As it turns out, I will be there after all. See you all tomorrow.
Cheers,
Kyle
Bump again... see ya there, Kyle :)
Btw, I'll be in the fake-home jersey with 03 on the back :)
Beth and I are driving down from Maine, meeting up with Beth's son in Boston (and possibly his girlfriend). So add another 3 or 4 to the count. I will be wearing a game worn RED number 2.

LOL.. like Chris, I'll have a game-worn red #2, this one from the Travis Bell era.
See you there.
Cheers,
Kyle
Kyle reminded me to have an e-mail sent out to all alums in the Boston area for the Harvard game but he forgot to remind me about this game and I've been a bit slow this season or else I would have had one sent out for this game. Anyway, I'll see you all in the caboose in a bit and it seems you've done a good job of rounding people up Ben.
Ben? You talking about me?
- Fred :)
Fred,
Thanks for arranging this. Nice facility and a great bunch of people.
Beth, Christy, Adam, and Chris
My pleasure, thanks everyone for coming. Hope to see many of you there in a couple weeks for Harvard!
yeah,Tom seemed to have a lapse in memory regarding your name, Fred/Ben....oh well.
Fred, thanks for organizing the event!
Looking forward to more viewing parties at the Sports Depot

Since I didn't recognize him in person, I guess we're even ;-)
