Title: Lynah East tickets for February 15
Post by: Al DeFlorio on September 27, 2002, 06:34:35 PM
Just learned that Harvard has cut the size of the Cornell Club of Boston block from 600 to 300, as a result of increased season ticket sales.  The fair-weather yachties are back, I guess.

Better plan ahead accordingly.

I figure they're just trying to take their rink back.

As if they could.

According to the Harvard ticket office, single game hockey tickets go on sale in "about two weeks."

Two weeks?  Hehe, all right. ;)

If you show up 2-3 hours before game time you can just walk into Bright.  Absolutely no security.  Look for an open seat after the game has started, or stand in the back with lots of other Cornellians.

I just called 877-GO-HARVARB (sucks) and they said hockey tickets go on sale "after the 14th (October)".

Just don't call before I get my ticket request in!

LGR!

P.S. the B is not a typo... recent transcripts indicate a lack of D's on campus.

The tix went on sale to the Cornell Club of Boston on October 1st, but they will never turn anyone away at the door. Don't worry about it so much.

Anyone know if there's a max limit on the number of seats one person can buy?

I just got off the phone with the Harvard ticket office.  I was able to get seats in section 13, in the corner, which is next to the sections that Cornell gets (14 and 15, I believe).  Anyway, worth noting:

1) The only tickets left on the Cornell side of the rink are either in the corner or behind the goal, at least from what the guy I was talking to could tell.

2) Harvard has added nets to the ends of Lynah East to prevent pucks from heading into the crowd.  (Sadly that means that my seats won't have the world's greatest view).

3) There is no limit on the number of tickets you can purchase.

4) Last year Anne and I had standing-room only tickets and that worked out very well (we were able to stand behind section 14 for the entire game), so that's worth considering.  This year, unfortunately, some in our group are not likely to want to stand the whole game, so it was not an option.

It sounded like the tickets for this game were selling pretty quickly (that, and the Yale-Harvard football game).  Of course, the ticket office has an interest in telling me that, but I thought I would pass it along in case it is true.

I got 5 tickets today and there are some still available, but not at CU sections. It's amazing, I almost felt guilty, it was so easy getting tickets at their rink.

I bought 5 in section 13 today.  The guy at the ticket office said that the visitors side is almost completely sold out (although I don't know what is available through the CU ticket office).
