Well, I guess this is as good a time as any to make these announcements.
First, I'm happy to announce the eLynah Database, which will serve as a repository for box scores, player info, and statistics for Cornell Men's Hockey. While it is almost completely functional now, the database is incomplete before the 2001-02 season, but hopefully that will change before too long. When it is complete, there will be more information available, like all-time statistic leaders. It will be actively updated for the games this year, and other eLynah features, such as eLF statistics, eLynah Mobile, and eLynah uPortals (see below) will rely on it heavily. It is located at http://www.hockey.cornell.edu/chdb .
Secondly, eLynah now has 2 new uPortal Channels for Cornell's uPortal service. They are available right now in the "News, Events, and Entertainment" category. The eLynah Forum Channel displays the 10 most recently active threads (with links) and number of messages. The eLynah Database Channel displays the results of the 5 most recent games, the next 3 games on the schedule, scoring leaders, and ECAC record (with links to more detailed pages). To use Cornell's uPortal service, you must have a valid Cornell ID. Go to http://uportal.cornell.edu to set up your custom page.
So, the uPortal service seems to require a netID and password. Does this mean it's only available to currently affiliated people and not alumni who have a Cornell email address? (E.g., is jtw24 not a valid Cornell ID for this purpose?)
Thanks Age. Too bad you couldn't have also required us to download a program that doesn't exist for my operating system and charged us seven bucks a month for the service; then this would have been a very exciting announcement. :-P
Freaking performance caching. Now everyone can vote on polls ::rolleyes::
Anyway, as for uPortal, I'm not positive if they have to be current active accounts. You could always bitch :-D
well
my old kerberos password as well as my cornell ID still work and i am 2 years out.
dont know about pre-netID people though :-D
jy3,
Well, they won't eventually, but keep enjoying it for now. :-)
