McKeen's Q & A with David LeNeveu

The Phoenix Coyotes selected David LeNeveu, a native of Fernie British Columbia, in the second round 46th overall in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.

McKeens: When and where did you start playing hockey?

LeNeveu: I started skating when I was two years old and started playing organized hockey when I was four in my hometown Fernie, B.C.

McKeens: Who directed your first hockey steps?

LeNeveu: My family got me into the game while various minor hockey coaches overlooked my development - Garth McLeod, Chris Moulton, and Perry Elderbroom to name a few.

McKeens: Do you have a favorite player?

LeNeveu: Wayne Gretzky

McKeens: Do you have a favorite NHL team?

LeNeveu: Any Canadian team.

McKeens: What is your biggest success in hockey so far?

LeNeveu: Being drafted by Phoenix and selected to try-out for the Canadian World Junior Team.

McKeens: How would you describe yourself as a player?

LeNeveu: Extremely focused, mentally tough, and hardworking.

McKeens: What do you do in your free time?

LeNeveu: Go to class and do homework while at school otherwise, workout and play a little golf.

McKeens: What is your hockey dream?

LeNeveu: To play for Team Canada and play as a starting goaltender in the NHL.

McKeens: Do you have a nickname?

LeNeveu: Lenny

McKeens: Do you have a person who influenced you the most?

LeNeveu: My dad

McKeens: What is your goal for the upcoming season?

LeNeveu: Make Team Canada and win the gold medal. Win the NCAA championship
