Can anyone explain why NESN is currently showing ESPNews instead of the expected College bball game.
Not that I care, but it makes me suspicious of what's coming next.
Edit: I see that Clemson/S. Carolina bball is only available to customers in Mass, RI, & NH, "due to ACC regulations". And that other areas get ESPNews right now. But... I'm in Mass. Well, at least it makes me feel a little better.

If you have DirecTV, that may explain it. I bet it's available on cable.
Kyle
Ah, that could explain it. Although they do know my zip code so it would be possible for them to show it to me - the same way they do zip code filtering for major league sports - but I guess they may not be able to send both signals.
It appears that the all-access link is the NESN link.
Cool!
Hmmm.... I didn't realize this was to be a Quinnipiac home broadcast. I'm unhappy.
Kyle
Yup, to repeat myself from the IRC chat:
must be a broadcast right issue
All Access wouldn't be able to broadcast into NESN territory
so rather than trying to filter by IP address, they're just copying the feed
so is the game starting late or what
Where is IRC btw?
cornell audio feed has started by the way

To be honest, it will be nice to see the puck at all times instead of just whenever the camera gets around to it.
"Kravitz" whistled for icing in "The Lynah Arena"
I see what you mean Kyle :-P
this is sad, i can get the game via all access butnot on my tv in boston
the crowd sounds REALLY loud by the way
These mic placements are new for Lynah tv broadcasts. You can hear everything from the students... including the bells in the band...
The broadcasters are pretty bad though... "the lynah arena" and "kravitz ices it for cornell" ::rolleyes::

How is this, do you not get NESN?
speaking of IRC......what is an appropriate server to access the lynah channel?

irc.warped.net
that is what I thought. for some reason it keeps being unable to connect saying "(software caused connection abortion)"
I'll ask the others on irc if they can help
Behind a router can often cause IRC problems
Forwarding port 113 can often help, if that means anything to you :)
hmmm perhaps it is a router issue. not sure how to forward port 113 or what that means

What's your software? I've had good results with Chatzilla (Mozilla chat client).
Another suggestion from the IRC chat was to use Mozilla/Chatzilla, if you're not already. May be less technical :)
So, the announcers are gassing on about the Cornell Faithful and Lynah Arena ... but the quality of the feed that's coming over the Web, that's awesome. Okay, it's still fuzzy on a big screen TV (and also on a 20" monitor). OTOH, we've got:
- decent picture quality, no dark spots
- virtually no pixellation
- no dropouts and no enduring image freeze-ups so far after two periods (Woofing Gods, go away - you're only interested in messing up shutouts and Cornell leads)
- multiple camera angles
- replays
We're going to miss the NESN cameras when they up and leave town.
For this, we should be willing to pay $50 a year or $7 a game.
I could sure go for some "Eli's on Whitney."
With a jingle like that ...

My favorite was the way they kept referring to "Topher" in the first period. They probably thought their roster had his name backwards (or maybe it did).
Did anybody notice how thew between periods interview guy ("Nesn's hockey maven Bill Mecca") kept massaging the shoulders and rubbing the backs of his guests?? Keep an eye on him next Tuesday night during the Harvard v Q broadcast. ::laugh:: ::laugh:: ::laugh::
Damn Mike Van Vline for getting all those penalties for us. ::nut:: ::nut::

Yeah, I noticed. Trying to get on Hagwell's good side. But then the coach too. He's up to something :)

Is that Mark's brother? Someone else (#29) got a penalty for us too - curse him. :P

You mean the guy who kept referring to Qunnipiac as "we"?
I could count on one hand the number of paid advertisements tonight.... Had basically memorized that damn Eli's on Whitney song by the end of the night...
I thought maybe I was seeing things. I wonder if the guy even realizes he is doing that?

Yeah, he was a little too handsy. That, and the fact that he insisted on shaking his other hand when he talked both made me laugh. I thought Pecknold looked a little uncomfortable at the end of the game.
LGR!
