Title: Hats off to McCutcheon
Post by: Kevin J on November 25, 2005, 11:22:15 PM
Even though he didn't make it to the hat trick :-P he looked fantastic tonight- and this whole season, for that matter.  Somebody finally stepped it up!  Most improved and most valuable this season.

There's still a lot of season left to go, but yes, McCutcheon would seem to be an early favorite for most improved.  As for most valuable, that certainly remains to be seen.

Agreed, he is great on the PK.  He may not be blessed with the most natural talent (although he said some sweet moves on the SH goal) but he works hard and is a true TEAM player.  Gotta love em!

Should point out that I picked him as the first star from last weekend in this week's column (not up yet).  I would really rip on him the last couple years for being soft and slow.  I think he has been one of the better Cornell players this year and most definitely their most improved from last year.

Its not that hard to increase one's impact, for better or worse, when ice time is several times what it has been in the past.

Agreed, but he has certainly stepped his game up to a new level and made the most of his increased ice time.  Save for maybe the Chris and Cam, he plays the hardest and shows some of the most intensity out there.  Not to mention he has quickly developed into one of the best PKers.
