i'll take 6:56
I started all access at 6:36 and got a feed, then it dropped out 5 minutes later.
Salmela in for Davenport; Barlow and Kindret dressed; Carefoot out.
I had video with no audio, then I switched to audio only. Now there's neither. Great service.
6:57... worked last week.... :-D , but not too optimistic about today.....
The audio was up for a bit, caught the end of the interview with the niagara coach. jason came back to do a look around the ecachl and then there was a "thunk" ::twitch:: and the sound has yet to return.....
And "over" has it.

Nice to see Gleed back, and in the starting lineup.
I don't know about Niagara's new uni's with the Gigantic "N"

I know Glover was out, but for some reason, I thought Gleed was too. Looking at the boxes, I see I'm wrong. Damn you, tryptophan.
choppy video here, anyone else?
O'b will be the death of us
high sticking NU pp coming

GOAL!
1 4:21 Cor O'Byrne 3 (Salmela 1, Moulson 6)
1-0, Cornell.
Was it shorthanded? Maybe he just knew how much we struggle with 5x5's ;)
so what you're saying is he's just taking one for the team??? ;-) :-D
as he takes another one NU pp coming (again)
Deja vu Union game, so far.
NU PPG
1 8:40 Nia pp Rocco (Williamson, Norrington)
1-1
Gametracker stuck 3:38 into the game. Didn't take long.
lametracker up but stuck on 16:22
CU pp coming: cross chk
CU controling play on PP, moving both bodies and puck well.
4:23 to play in the period. the boys look good, just need to cash in when we get the chance.
GOAL! R. Kindret

It seems like a lot of times they seem to control play and movement well but have trouble finding actual shots. Are they taking more (good) shots tonight?
Special K!
1 16:23 Cor Kindret 1 (Krantz 2, Kennedy 1)
2-1, Kornell. :-)
so far, shots seem to be of a higher quality than previous games. (knocks on wood)
Nice move by Abbott across the slot. Wish we did more of that.

The KKK goal? A marketing nightmare.
I could be wrong. But isn't that the first freshmen goal of the year?
sawada off for interference
i thought barlow had one earlier but i could be wrong
according to the stats on uscho.com, he has 3 assists...the freshmen points leader
is salmela playing on the wing?;-) he's been jumping into the rush a lot tonight.
tbd if this is good or bad.

Yep. It is.
Jason said that Carefoot is out. That isn't good.
abbott abbott sawada together again :-D

Scott with Moulson and Bitz.
The video cast is much better without the yodelers. I wish they'd offer this as an option.

Takes just a slight twist of a knob or thumbwheel.
Pokulok now paired with Seminoff; Krantz with Gleed and Salmela still with O'B
Sawada! 3-1!
Sawada GOAL!
williamson goal NU
2 x:xx Cor Sawada 3 (Seminoff 1, Mugford 3)
2 12:28 Nia Williamson (Caruana, Harris)
3-2, Cornell.
Anyone have a sense on current SOG #s? Gametracker is still down...

The scoreboard showed 11 for Cornell and 8 for them, but I'll bet that's first period totals.
Bitz, McCutcheon, and Cam skating together. Really shuffling the deck tonight.
so far this period the lines have been changing every shift. coach must still be looking for some kind of spark.
Bitz off for interference
o'b off for high sticking (3rd of the night)
nu goal - cook
2 18:14 Nia pp Cook (Cross, Harris)
3-3.
It really puzzles me that the bad guys can set up easy backdoor shots on 5x3's while we can only manage to bomb away from the points. Both their power play goals tonight were from point-blank.
4x4 williamson off for roughing
by my count niagara had 6 shots that period and 2 goals.. CU had 17.. but i missed the first 5 min of the period.
Btw, that all too short lived of a 2 goal lead was our first of the regular season - not counting ENGs. Pretty scary.
Gametracker has returned. Shots 31-15 after two.
...that had to come from behind (at home) to beat RIT 6 days ago? RIT played D3 last year, right?
I think Gametracker just sticks with 19:22 left in the period.
'Cutch scores!!
haha, i noticed that too
3 5:05 Cor McCutcheon 2 (Cam Abbott 4, Pegoraro 4)
Cornell, 4-3.
sawada off for elbowing
NU pp coming (2/6 tonight)
So how many penalties have we taken in the offensive zone? I can recall at least three.
SHG!!! "Cutch again!!!!
McCutcheon! Shorthanded! 8:38 (Salmela)
Great move by Mark. Came into the offensive zone 1-on-3 and simply skated past the defense along the left wing, cut to the middle, brought the puck to the forehand, and slid it past the sprawling goalie.
3 08:38 Cor McCutcheon 3 (Salmela 2) SH
10:32. Simpson for NU. 5-4.
simpson NU goal
I think Simpson (a left wing) was the guy McCutcheon beat for the shortie.
3 10:32 Nia Simpson (Rocco)
Cornell 5-4.
lone tuba tonight ::help::
we're giving up way too many goals directly following our own tallies.
[Q]ben03 Wrote:

Does it look like we get lazy, or over-excited, or what? Anyway it's better to give up one goal after scoring two than the other way around...
I'm jsut logged on gametracker... how are we playing?
5:30 to play
[Q]Cactus12 Wrote:

You mean besides giving up 4 goals to Niagara?
They’re just “let-down†goals. our opponents want to tally back and we've seemingly let them have it far too frequently.
Well I see we finally have some even strength goals
1:39 to play back and forth action
1:02, we'll be a man down plus the extra skater.
empty net - 6x4 with less than a minute to play
ast. ref blew the call, icing was whistled and game should end 5-4
I'm not sure what went on in that Niagara timeout, but I thank their coach for the strategy for the final minute!
game over, first win in 4 home games for the Red
close one
way too close ::worry::

Can you explain to our elynah audience? How can a puck that goes into the net be whistled for icing?
A win... is a win.
Jason seemed to think it was for icing. ::screwy::
i really have no idea

Cornell cleared the puck with about 5 seconds left, killing the penalty, and the 6x4.
Linesman inadvertently whistled icing on the Cornell clear. So they had a faceoff in the Niagara end.
A stupid mistake, that's all - that's why the ensuring face off was in the Niagara end. If you're looking for more of a reason, I think the only answer is 'brain fart'.
It couldn't have been an erroneous icing call. If the AR wrongly blows the play dead for icing, the ensuing faceoff takes place at center ice.
Also, the puck didn't go into the net.

Thanks. I guess that would make a difference. :-)

Then Murphy got it wrong. Watching the play, I can't imagine it was anything other than an erroneous icing call.

Same here. I noted that the faceoff was in the wrong place, so both the linesman and Murphy got it wrong. But given that the game would have been over without the errant whistle, I was happy to see the FO somewhere that ensured the game would end 5-4.

Immediately after they blew play dead you could see the ref apologizing to coach who was irrate at this point. Therefore, due to there being an inadvertent whistle, play started where the play ended.

The generally accepted rule is that with an erroneous stoppage of play, the faceoff goes to center ice. I looked up the official wording:
http://www.ncaa.org/library/rules/2006/2006_m_w_ice_hockey_rules.pdf[Q]Rule 6, Section 27f.
If the officials err in calling an icing-the-puck infraction (regardless of whether either team is short-handed), the puck shall be faced off at the center ice face-off spot unless, in the opinion of the referee, the center ice face-off unduly penalizes either team. (See 6-15-n.)[/Q]
[Q]Rule 6, Section 15n.
If an on-ice official mistakenly stops play, the face-off shall be at center ice unless, in the opinion of the official, the center ice face-off would unduly penalize either team.[/Q]
So one could reasonably say that in Murphy's opinion, given the game clock, taking the face-off to center ice would unduly penalize Cornell, who did the right thing in sending the puck to the far boards.

Seems that Murphy got this one right.
