Cornell power play. Mike harr called for holding the stick.
OK, let's see the new pp units.
Barlow and Glover are out of the lineup tonight. Kindret and Davenport replace them.
Some changes to lines. (Chris?) Abbott skating top line with Moulson and Bitz.
in checking for video access (which was choppy during the anthem) I must have missed the "new and hopefully improved" lines....
anyone care to post??
are the abbotts-sawada back together???
Cornell kills a Too Many Men penalty. Moments later Union gets called for the same thing.
Glover being out of the lineup scares me... He's been one of the small bright spots of the D.
Union ends a powerplay and still hasn't had a shot on goal!
1:32 of 5x3 coming up.
Now a 5x3 as Union gets called for holding.
MUGFORD!!!!
Mugford puts Cornell on top. Power play goal. Good to see Cornell scoring on a 5x3 after last week's problems.
announcer says moulson is playing right wing instead of left wing today
Game tracker said Pokoluk scored and mugford wasn't on the ice ::nut::
Union radio said it was Pokulok, as does Gametracker. They both screw up?
- I miss video.
I don't have video so I wouldn't know
The game is official.... Seminoff to the box.
Seminoff for interference. He does take his penalties!
the cu audio with the video feed is real bad quality tonight
I could've sworn Union said Mugford.(I'm listening to them) and the folks listening to Cornell seemed to agree. We can fix it later if necessary.
Crap. Union scores.
McKee stopped that puck last year.
They need to call timeout here and settle down.
UGH
Of course, the two defensive demons rear their heads right away.
Seminoff takes a penalty, Union scores.
O'Byrne gives the puck away, Union scores.
2-1 Union.
Krantz playing, or Pokoluk. Jeez, wake up Schafer!
HUGE save by mayotte, but pp coming up for cu
At least they followed up with two great shifts.
PP coming
Ouch.. Is McKee really that bad this year? 2 goals on 4 shots...
[Q]kaelistus Wrote:

He got a piece of the first one... but O'Byrne hung him out to dry on the second.
this is frustrating
Excuses, excuses...
cu on pp again
high sticking and tripping on union, 4 min of pp coming up
O'Byrne has mishandled the puck on the point twice in the past 3 minutes.
I'm not sure he'll be playing on the first unit much longer.
Honest to god, changes need to be made.:`(
So far, the power play lines seem to be...
LW C RW
Bitz Scott Sawada
Carefoot Pegoraro Kennedy
LD RD
O'Byrne Moulson
Pokulok Seminoff
At even strength? Who knows?
Gametracker had the shots as 17-4 in the 1st. Let's hope McKee can improve his save % in the 2nd and Mayotte's goes down.
At even strength, the lines are:
Mugford / Chris Abbott / Sawada
Carefoot / Pegoraro / Scott
Cam Abbott / Bitz / Moulson
Kindret / Kennedy / McCutcheon
Seminoff / Gleed
Davenport / O'Byrne
Pokulok / Krantz
On the 5x3 power play, Cornell used this PP unit:
Mugford/Scott/Moulson/Bitz/Pokulok
not to sound like i've given up on mckee....which i haven't...but it sounds like he needs a wake-up call....and a better defense in front of him wouldn't hurt either. sounds like o'byrne is making some serious mistakes that are hurting us big time
Pokulok and Krantz together? Now that's a formula for success. ::nut::

I think giving up 5 goals was as much of a wake up call as you would want.
Ken, who else would you switch them up for? With the possible exception of Gleed, the entire D crew has been sub par.
Cam Abbott / Bitz / Moulson
did anyone have this in the "lines" thread?... I don't recall this combo being mentioned...
by wake up call i was talking more like....take him out of the game, sit him on the bench for a game or two...he hasn't taken a 6-1 loss as a wake up call...put louis in for tonight and maybe tomorrow, see what it feels like to play like a second string goalie, let him ride the bench

Yeah, who would've thought of switching Moulson to RW?
Another penalty on Union. Man, with these shots and 5x3 again... we really need one here.
::twitch:: another pp and no goal.... ::twitch::
No results after 6 minutes of power play time, including a 5X3 advantage.
Mayotte is playing out of his mind right now.
I've got a bad feeling. :`(
Good goalie, bad goalie ...
They sure seem to be pressing, and playing a hot goalie only adds to the pressure.
Hot goalie is fine, but if they put 60 shots on him he's going to crack.
[Q]Trotsky Wrote:

Hope so.
Well, didn't SLUt put 60 + on RIT and lose?
shot on his own goal!??!??!
O'Byrne apparently shoots on his own goal. ::rolleyes::

The video was in slideshow style when that happened, but sometimes a defender will do that to get the whistle.
anyone else having all access video problems now?
My video has been slideshow for the whole game.
[Q]jeffdav_CU91 Wrote:

Traffic issues probably.
Of course, Dartmouth's free video didn't have similar problems ::uhoh::
Pegoraro is 10x10 on faceoffs.
time?
SOG are 25-5.
Faceoffs are 26-7.
at least our offense seems to have control of the puck more tonight compared to last weekend
We're in complete control of everything. The only issues are us not finishing and the O'Byrne turnover that McKee couldn't stop.
8:38 remaining
LET'S GO RED

Union radio said he did. At least now there's a reason to do it.

Your problem in particular may be your connection settings. Right click/options/performance and set the connection to 768; then click on the COR video link again. Tell me what happens. I've noticed that the 271 kbps feed from CSTV sucks (slideshow). Not quite sure why right now, but I'll find out one way or the other.
Cheers,
Kyle
Kyle,
That fixed it. Thanks! I guess on the lower settings they just don't bother to send all the frames.
SEMINOFF :-(
Pulls down someone from behind. 5X3 for Union.
It seems that the refs call a penalty virtually anytime someone hits the ice (and this applies both ways).

The Seminoff call was definitely accurate.
5X3 over, a few seconds left in the 5X4
Killed off the first penalty. The kill seems great so far. Now we're even strength.
They called THAT?! That was a joke. Matt just fell.
Cornell to the PP. U d-man took down Moulson.

It still shouldn't look that bad at the lower rate. I'll look into it a bit further before tomorrow night's game.
Thanks,
Kyle
Lotsa good movement there, but we couldn't find any lanes.
End of 2.
Time to put the season back on the right track in the third period.
Well, we have a tough road ahead. On the last PP it seemed they were looking for the perfect shot. Union is going to play it very close to the vest. Hopefullly if they go into a shell we can finally break through.
Mugford to the box, because he dared to place a hand upon a Union player.
The players are starting to dive everywhere because the ref is calling everything.
OK, that last Moulson, Scott, Bitz combo was gorgeous. Not a goal, but a great set up.
Hit from behind on UC. Cornell going on pp #8.
U to the box for "hitting from behind."
Ah, it's Hansen.
Hey Hansen, the whistle called, it said, BLOW ME
Another super-aggressive kill by UC.
Well, I can only be slightly mad at McKee right now, since he's only gotten the support of one goal so far.
how did he allow 2 goals on 4 shots in the first though??
How much time left???
[Q]dadeo Wrote:

1st goal: Bad, Bad, Bad. Unscreened shot from the top of the circle that squeezed between the arm and the body.
2nd goal: O'Byrne bad giveaway. No chance for McKee
7 minutes to go.
[Q]dadeo Wrote:

I think O'byrne mishandled the puck for one of those.
Regardless though, you can't win many games with 1 goal.
While I didn't see those goals, the number of shots on goal to me has always been somewhat overrated. The quality of shots is far more important.
Moulson's played about 50 minutes tonight.
4:40
4:38 left.
Our announcers sound like road announcers. They just don't *know* Cornell hockey. It's irritating.
The effort is solid, but we need someone to finish ...
Cornell seems to outplaying Union in every category. Except one. Sheesh.

Well, two.
Goals and Goaltending.
3:01 left. Ugh I hate the Union announcers.
Seriosuly, they're dominating in the UC end. Just can't score. :-/
2:20 left.
They pulled McKee!
42 seconds left.
42 seconds.
42 seconds left. I imagine Schafer will call a TO here.
Haha nice call Tuba... just happened
Timeout Cornell.

Well, it was the obvious thing to do :-)
Fight song is happening in the background... I love our fans :)
If this ends up being a loss, it's one that makes me feel much better than any win the team has had yet this year.
Best played game of the year, minus one O'Byrne mistake.
32 seconds left with a faceoff in the U zone.
2 seconds left. Faceoff in the U zone.
I think I need to ::yark::
Game over.
::help::
Union played a great defensive third period. Clogged the middle, stayed in the shooting lanes, great goaltending. Cornell had solid effort and is clearly the superior team, but was snakebit all night -- and the offense is pressing.
Things are just not clicking yet. It's still early, but a bit too reminiscent of 2004 for my liking.
SOGs?
ouch. lets hope for a win tomorrow nite... ::twitch::

Just one of those nights.
They better find a scoring touch is this is gonna be 2000 all over again
The difference in this game, we made 1 major mistake and they took advantage of it and scored. The first goal was kind of weird, I think it may have hit Pegoraro and then went off McKees shoulder and in. The second goal was a turnover behind the net and a very nice centering pass by the union player. Not really McKee's fault, but its a save i've seen him make before. He looked much more comfortable out there tonight. Other than that 10 second or whatever period where Union scored their two goals I think the team looked pretty good. The first pp unit had some beautiful passing, but just couldn't convert on some deflections and 1 timers. We still need to find the right combo for a 2nd pp unit. Coach is still messing around with the lines as they changed late in the 3rd, it'll be interesting to see what he puts out there tomorrow night.
