Title: College Hockey in USA Hockey Magazine
Post by: JDeafv on November 13, 2005, 05:27:30 PM
Now that I'm playing hockey again in MD, I'm forced to become a member of USA Hockey.  The November 2005 magazine came today and had some interesting college hockey related articles:  (The November issue is not yet online, but perhaps in the future can be found at http://www.usahockeymagazine.com/)

- Article about WCHA dominance in the last decade, including the all-WCHA FF last year.

- Article about 3 OSU players who are in a band named "Shorthanded"

- Article about current NCAA women's hockey players who are leaving school to play in the Olympics next year.

- Article about how much the University of Minnesota hockey players enjoy playing hockey video games (don't all college students enjoy video games?)

- Feature on Chris Higgins (yes, former Yale and current Hamilton Bulldogs player).  The articles talks about how Chris was a soccer and hockey star at his CT prep school.  It claims he had offers from Harvard (sucks!) and BC before he decided to play at Yale.  I recall booing Chris when he came to Lynah because the reports were that he snubbed Cornell after verbally committing.

- Also related is a picture of Dustin Brown on the ice with the LA Kings.  The caption reads "Exciting young stars like Ithaca, NY native Dustin Brown have the NHL moving in the right direction."

Hopefully this provides a distraction from debating whether McKee is "washed-up" after the performance in Hanover.

[/q]... which couldn't have been written all that recently, since Higgins is pretty much playing every day for the Canadiens this year.
