Title: WVBR Dream Job - Hockey Show
Post by: Jack Cognetta on November 08, 2005, 02:19:12 PM
Hey ELynah,

First, thanks for your support about the shameless plugs I throw up on the board every once in a while. I will do my best to inform you when we have hockey players on the show in the future. And like Josh said, I do this for fun, because I love broadcast journalism and sports - I do not get paid a nickel. (although it does make one hell of a resume tape when applying for on-air full-time positions in the future).

Second, Dream Job or as we will call it - the WVBR on-Air Challenge.

If you would like to be try-out for an audition to be on WVBR's first ever web/iPod based Cornell hockey program, you need to submit a position statement ASAP! Please submit it to sportswire@wvbr.com. So far I have received only 1! In the statement, please include a short bio about yourself and why you are interested in becoming an on-air personality for the podcast.

Auditioning is not limited to Cornell students - it is open to hockey fans of the entire Ithaca community of all ages.

The deadline to submit a position statement will be extended until this Friday, November 11th at 5pm. My goal is to hold auditions early next week and have our first show the weekend of Union/RPI. WVBR Sports may produce a trial podcast show this weekend recapping Harvard/Dartmouth - I will keep you posted.

So get those position statements in!:-) :-)

Any chance the interviews and show from this past week could be made available in an archived format?  Thanks Jack.  This is great!

Hey,

Thanks man. Are you referring to the interview with Moulson and Topher on Roundup or the Roundup with Elizabeth Bishop - I will be podcasting all of the Sports Roundups and putting them on the wvbr.com web site tomorrow morning.
