Title: CBS To Acquire CSTV
Post by: KeithK on November 03, 2005, 07:30:33 PM
Possible bad news for college hockey fans: http://www.cstv.com/genrel/110305aac.html
It's easy to imagine the new owners dropping Friday night hockey and pumping the schedule full of squeakball.  We'll have to wait and see, but I'm pessimistic.

It's actually not that likely that Friday nights will become college basketball territory. Most, if not all, of the major conferences don't schedule games on Friday nights. They typically go Thursday-Saturday. The Ivy League is one of the few conferences I know of that plays their games on a Friday-Saturday schedule. Aside from a few early-season non-conference games, most college hoops isn't on Friday.

When CSTV was first introduced, the creators went out of their way to say they weren't doing this to start it up and then sell it to a big media company, like they had done when they started Classic Sports.  They lied.  Sur-prise, sur-prise, sur-prise!
