The Cornell Hockey Association is considering sponsoring a bus trip to the game v. Niagara which will be held in Rochester over the Thanksgiving Day weekend, November 26 at 7 p.m.
At this point we are *assessing interest* only--we have a tentative hold on a 47-seat bus and need to make a commitment by the end of this week. If we get enough responses of interest in the trip, the bus will be reserved and the trip will be a reality.
Bus ticket prices will be $15 each round trip. There will be a game ticket available for each rider on the bus. Neither CU nor Niagara were able to give us a price on game tickets except that they will be "under $15".
We are planning an afternoon departure, meal stop before the game, and return to Ithaca that evening.
If you are interested in making the trip to Rochester, please email me at the hotmail address listed in my profile with your name and number of tickets wanted BY THURSDAY OCTOBER 13. You will get a return email either confirming your reservation or letting you know the trip did not work out.
Here's hoping we get a good response and have a great BIG RED presence at the game!
I am hoping to have off saturday... but we will be driving from buffalo. anyone else from the buffalo area going?
Will there be enough seats on the bus for me to bring long my little brother who doesn't go to Cornell (yet)? Will you be able to reserve a ticket for him too?
What about the case that we don't ride the bus? If we decided to drive ourselves there and back, will you be able to reserve tickets for us anyway? ::screwy::
BCA expects to have tickets available beginning October 22. I haven't heard from them where the Cornell sections will be yet. I haven't heard anything from the ticket office here as to when tickets go on sale.
I'm sure you'll be able to buy tickets from Cornell that will put you in the Red section, the bus package is something else. Or, you can buy tickets from BCA and drive yourself there. I have family in Rochester so I'll probably be bringing 8, with a trip to the Dino before the game.
I think Cornell fans need to turn out loud & large & show the NCAA that Rochester is their town.
Game tickets will be in a block section with other Big Red fans....we are looking at getting our tickets with the Cornell Club of Rochester, in a block nearby, or thru the CU ticket office. Any way we do it, we will be in a Big Red section. Info on where anyone's sections will be in the arena doesn't seem to be available until Thursday 10/22.
Oat, family members are welcome on the bus! But please don't reserve tickets unless you are definitely planning to make the trip on the bus. If you reserve a spot and then go by car, we have to cover your ticket costs....and potentially could be giving you a seat which someone else could have used which would then go empty. There might be last-minute cancellations due to things like illness, but we'd prefer you not get a seat on the bus as a fall-back.
All said, hope you are able to go by whatever means!
See you all in Rochester!
cornell club of buffalo also has a trip planned. cant find the flyer, but there is a trip and a meet and greet beforehand I believe or some sort of reception
I haven't posted in a while, but I'm planning on driving out to the game from Buffalo. If anyone wants a ride let me know.
Whats the deal with the cornell club thing? Was it emailed out?
We haven't heard anything back...... whats the deal with this trip? Still on?
The CHA bus trip still has room! Tickets are $15 for the bus. Game tickets, if needed, are $12 for adults and students, $6 for kids under 12. We have tickets available in section 123, behind the Big Red bench. The bus will be leaving at 2:30 pm and there will be a meal stop on the way to the arena.
If you're interested in making the trip, email me!
The "Cornell Club thing" is, I believe, a reference to the CC of Rochester event at the arena. They are offering a package of pre-game pasta dinner at the arena with featured speaker Andy Noel, game ticket and post-game reception with Coach Schafer and the team. The whole package is $30; $24 with Cornell ID; the post-game reception alone is $10.
Should we have gotten some sort of confirmation that we are on the bus if we emailed you?
DEFINITLY Interested, along with about 6 other friends of mine!!!
I sent confirmation of ticket orders on October 17 and then again yesterday with trip details...if you didn't hear from me, I didn't get an email from you. I've only had two emails from eLynah folks so far. There are still a few bus seats left. If you are interested, let me know how many bus tickets you need *and* if you need game tickets.
I trust that means about 4,000 other folks are ::drive:: up in their cars.
yeah my wife and i will be there along with her cousins and their kids. gonna try to find cornell t shirts for all the kids :) ::nut::
REDhead, just making sure you recieved my email. I am the RA who was hoping to get a set of up 7 tickets. Thanks!
I also sent you an email yesterday, and I thought I sent you one when you originally posted this, so hopefully you can confirm that i'm on the bus. Send me a PM or my email in the profile if you need to get to me. Thanks
