NESN will televise five Quinnipiac men's hockey games, including the Quinnipiac-Cornell game at Lynah Rink on December 3. It appears that game will start at 6 pm.

wow. how did they score that?
Does anyone know if NESN shows outside of NE? Like perhaps........DC?
I believe it's part of the DirecTV sports pack.
The Q pays NESN to air select men's and women's basketball and men's hockey games. Cornell's embarrassment at QU in hoops last year as on NESN for the same reason.

Any publicity is good publicity, right? Q is trying to improve the quality and visibility of its athletics programs and getting shown on NESN certainly can't hurt.
Yeah, it's definitely on DirecTV, and I believe Dish as well.
Otherwise, no cable lineup is going to (can?) carry out of market RSNs (regional sport nets)
NESN hasn't gotten gobbled up by Fox, right? Fox has their Fox College Sports network which picks up random games from their regional networks, but I think NESN is still independant (owned by the Sox?)
Too early, or does anyone in the CT area want to get together and watch it (assuming we can't get up to Lynah)?

Yup, still owned by the Sox and that whole conglomerate (John Henry, Boston Globe (?) )

Sounds similar to what Cornell did years ago when they arranged to have football games broadcast by--believe it or not--ESPN. That was not too far removed from the era when ESPN would show Amherst-Wesleyan wrestling matches to fill air time. Sean McDonough, IIRC, did the play-by-play.
Are you sure that wasn't "Sportschannnel" instead of ESPN?

IIRC it was SC one year and MSG another. Also, it was the doing of one rich alum.
According to the INCH tv schedule, ESPNU will televise the Saturday, February 4 game between Cornell and Colgate, which will be played at Starr Rink.

Nice, but we'll miss those classy announcers from the Colgate webcast. ::yark::

Hopefully now the whole world will learn that "Cornell f***s sheep" and "SUNY Ithaca blows goats"
It's too bad the at home viewer can't appreciate the sensation of condiments being thrown at you.
That place is a joke...

Or the notion of throwing pizza at your fellow Colgate fans.
That was great, by the way. Way to go, Colgate facetimers ('gatetimers?).
Anyone have an spare $2.5 million (http://www.quinnipiac.edu/x10983.xml)care to name Q's new rink (http://athleticsmedia.quinnipiac.edu/athletics/photos/Facilities/Athletic-Center-Progress/September-2005/index.htm) among other lesser name rights?
Do we know the capacity of the unnamed Fighting Deer Ticks new rink (slated to open January 2007)?

I'm sure you'll be able to hear them in the background.
Barking like dogs.
The ECACHL web site states that the ESPNU February 4 Cornell at Colgate broadcast will be shown on tape delay at 10:30 pm EST. However, Time-Warner Cable in Central New York will televise the game live.

Rookies in Cromwell (right off Rt. 9) is a really good central location with tons of TVs -- I was able to watch the one CSTV game there last year. If they got CSTV, it stands to reason they'll have ESPNU (and almost every bar in CT has NESN).

Sounds good. We'll talk about it again when it's closer.

To follow up on an earlier post, it appears that ESPNU will show the Feb. 4 Cornell at Colgate game live.
