Title: Lynah Seating Diagram
Post by: Andy on September 28, 2005, 04:27:44 PM
Is there a link on elynah to the rink chart,  I looked around but can't it.  Or can anyone give me the seats by rows for each section?  Just trying to figure out where my line number puts me.  Thanks

I dont think you can really figure that out, as the sections do not fill up one by one.  It really depends on what you value in a seat.  Last year with 550 (which equates to 1100 this year), there were still a few seats left in E, half of F remaining, and the majority of G still open.

If you give us around what #'s you have, someone can probably give you a good idea around which area seats will be available based on previous years.

The other thing to think about is this:

Last year, my group strategically took every other seat with our early line numbers, filling them in when the later line numbers got to choose.  This way, we effectively blocked other groups from taking the seats we wanted.  This will be a lot harder (impossible?) to do this year, obviously.  You may find a lot people waiting for a friend's line number so they can choose together.  Your line number isn't necessarily how many people have chosen their seats before you.

A word of caution: I heard several complaints from people who tried this last year only to have a few singles break up their group.  There are no guarentees that someone won't take a single open seat--especially if it is a "good" seat.

honestly, if i was a group of 2 or 3, I would just take every other seat that you've left open and just sit next to each other.  The people who were leaving the spacing arent going to want to not sit next to their friends, so would eventually switch out tickets with you, or just switch seats for every game.

i think its kind of dick to take every other to begin with...either use the worst number in your group or take your block and let your friends take another one.

Fair enough.  It's not like our line numbers were that far apart to begin with - I think they went from 80ish-130ish, with one in the 600s that we didn't even bother to try to block with.  There was the whole Pi Kapp block around those numbers too, and we went several rows higher than our ideal, figuring that's about where people would be choosing by the time our friends got there.  I'm not sure we even realized at the time that people could/were waiting with the last line number in their group.

My point was more that this isn't a great strategy, particularly this year, so you'll find more people waiting with the last line number in the group.  And if they're doing that, you can't really predict how many people will be picking before you.
