UGHH... Now I gotta root for THOSE guys????
"(CP) - The Florida Panthers kicked off the 2005 free-agent period by signing veteran forwards Joe Nieuwendyk and Gary Roberts, the first two casualties for the Toronto Maple Leafs under the NHL's new salary-cap era. "
If I survived him as a Devil I can stomach anything.
Wait, Florida still has a team??? Good luck competing for the sporting dollar with D-Wade, Shaq and the Heat. Hopefully Joe still finds some time for his favorite NCAA squad....
Yeah, my thoughts exactly... I HATED rooting for the Devils that year, but hey, I got to drink outta THE CUP because of it, so worse things have happened!!!
Nice to see Joey and Gary Roberts stick together though...
Why would you have to actually root for Florida just because Nieuwendyk is on the team? Root for him to do well and to hell with the rest. Well, I suppose if what you want is for Joe to set the record for the being on the most different Stanley Cup winning franchises then you have to root for the Panthers, but then life isn't fair.
Sorry Keith... I'll always root for Joey and, by default, his team...
He's brought me the Stanley Cup TWICE, so I figure I owe him that much!!!!
Of course, the Rangers are still top priority!!!
I understand. But if that's your choice, then you have to live with the UGHH.
Can it really be worse than rooting for Dallas?

I liked Dallas; I even hung on for a little bit after he moved on.
I always root for his team to win because I like seeing him at his best in the playoffs, and also because my beloved Islanders never seem to go up against him in an eliminination series. That would be a tough choice.
I am a rangers fan first and a dallas fan second. so shoot me.

would you like to line up with the rest of the "ex-1940" s?

;)
Devils are a great organization. Sounds like jealousy to me. Lou is the best GM in sports. I'm more of a Canucks fan myself but the Devils just get it done. Not the prettiest game, but Lou will adjust to the new rules I'm guessing.
