some excerpts:
" We had a taste of college hockey at the highest level during the 2003 Frozen Four, an event people are still talking about because it was so entertaining and fans were left wondering why we can't build a big-time college program here."
...
" Lee Stempniak just graduated from Dartmouth. Chris Mueller and Tim Kennedy will be playing next season for Michigan State. Matt Connors is leaving for Cornell. Nick Schaus is headed for the University of Massachusetts-Lowell. Patrick Kane, Mike Ratchuk and Brett Bennett played for the U.S. under-17 team. Take any five on the same team, and it might be the foundation for a national contender."

Here's more on the UB situation.  This article largely covers the UB president's reaction to the Corrigan report.  Though hockey is mentioned as a sport that should be considered because of its "potential for success due to UB location", the report mainly deals with what UB needs to do to stay D-IA in football and remain in the MAC.

BTW, at least one error in the first article:  Niagara has never made the Frozen Four.  They've been in the NCAA tournament twice and won a game, but haven't advanced to the Frozen Four (yet).
