Title: Help me find my tickets
Post by: Newman on March 24, 2005, 01:28:35 PM
There's a giant hole in my heart where my hockey tickets for Minnesota are supposed to be. The short version of the story is that I believe the tickets we ordered were sent to the address of my friend who is out-of-town until Saturday morning.

Can anyone who did receive overnighted tickets enlighten me as to what overnight service was used?  My fleeting hope is that perhaps I could get the courier to re-direct what will probably be the third and final delivery attempt tomorrow to my home instead of his, but I suspect I'd need to find them in the next few hours to even try. Unfortunately the cornell ticket office is closed today so I can't get any info from them.

Thanks!

My envelope is at home, but I'm 99% sure it was UPS Next Day Air.

(Sigh....did Elliot screw up your order? ;-) )

Tickets came UPS.  There's also something on the back of the ticket that says if you lose your ticket and if they can verify that you owned a specific seat, the Mariucci box office will replace the ticket (if you pay again) and then you have ten days to send in the tickets and get a refund so you're not double charged (this is from memory - as I don't have the tickets with me now).  However, they may say this is standard language for Minn. games and not relevant here.
When I ordered the tickets Monday I asked if the Ticket Office was keeping a list of seats in case the delivery got lost and they said "yes."  Perhaps they can verify the story to Mariucci for you and give them the seat location.

If the tickets did indeed come UPS, I believe you can do a change of address on their website, assuming you have the tracking # (or case # that is on the slip they usually leave at the door).  I think you have to submit the change of address before 7pm the day before you want to receive the shipment.

d'oh
although seeing that you most likely do not have the tracking # nor can you get it from CU today........you may have to go over and find the slip UPS might have left........or call them to get more info.
either way, I'd say he owes you a drink or five. :)

Thanks to everyone for your help; it appears they delivered the tickets to the doorway vestibule there without a signature required, so we seem to have averted any serious disasters arising from Elliot's boneheadedness.

See you all in Minnesota
