I know there have been many people who posted about going in the "How do we get there?" thread and the "Pep Band to Minnesota" thread, but just to condense it down: Who's going to be there?
I'm going with my parents, staying at the Radisson City Center (or some such thing) in St. Paul - got a good last-minute package deal on site59.com. My parents were coming down to visit next weekend for Easter anyway, so now we're all just going to hop on a plane in DFW and hit Minny instead! They both have Cornell AND UMinn degrees, so they're looking forward to checking out their old stomping grounds.
See you at the Mooch!
I'll be there with my dad, Larry72, and a couple others hopefully.. PLEASE DO WHATEVER YOU CAN TO DO THE SAME!
Workin' on it as we speak (type)...
I'll be there with my dad as well...having been in LA all season, this will be the first Cornell game I get to attend this year...I've been looking forward to this for months now!
Already more than I was expecting!
From the central Iowa contingent, I have PhD qualifier exams on Saturday, so I WOULD be there, but can definitely make it if we play on Sunday.
I'll be there with Marea, staying at the Crowne Plaza Minneapolis Northstar.
I'll be driving out there. I hope that others will be doing the same (or flying if they can pull that off)!

I'll be there, and the block of 8 tickets I bought are all spoken for.
Anyone know what section(s) Cornell is in?
Minneapolis, here we come!

I'm in the car with Ack.
Lord, how I wish I could go - and I too found those incredible NWA deals, including a room at the Radisson City Center (which is owned by a Cornellian, btw). But I'm now in the depths of trying to fight off the flu, and I can't imagine justifying the extra expense and the time out of town right now. If I have to make the decision by 4pm tomorrow because that's when Cornell sends the rest of the tickets back, the decision is going to be "no."
Now they'd better goddamn well get this freakin' game on television.

Radisson City Center...can we get any financial sympathy from the owner? 1100 miles is a long trip.
If I can convince my friends to undergo the car trip with me, I would really really like to go. I really regret not getting to Providence two years ago, and I don't want to make the same mistake twice.
Agreed.
I'll be there. Staying at the Super 8 in Roseville.
Let me know if there will be any organized get togethers.
By the way, I've found out UND fans call Mariucci "The John" as in John Mariucci Arena (and similar to "The Joe").
strongly considering going.

from the pep band posts (and emails) looks like ill be there... cant wait!!! had to suffer with watching it on TV 2 years ago - and i finally have something to do with my spring break!
also strongly considering going

My advice to people on the fence about taking the plunge and going to Minnesota:
Just Do It.
Commit yourself to the ticket and don't look back. It may be rough, it may be pricey, it may even be really crazy, but it's always going to be worth it. If you're not doing anything this weekend other than your normal routine (or heck, even your normal Easter routine if you swing that way), there's no excuse good enough to keep you from doing it.
I've done the insane one-day-only cross country flight for hockey (to Vancouver, in fact). I was harassed by the border patrol for four hours, I had no hotel room and almost no money, I slept on a park bench downtown in the pouring rain (I don't recommend that part) and got kicked out of McDonalds because they thought I was a homeless freeloader, but when I got in that rink in row 7 almost at ice level, it was worth it. When I saw that 1-0 victory that turned the season back around (until the playoffs anyway...), it was worth it. I know that doing the same crazy road trip for a playoff game--a Cornell playoff game--would be THAT much sweeter.
And now you know that your pep band manager is certifiably insane.
Would anyone like to split a package from NYC with me on NWA? It would cost $300-350 including hotel leaving from JFK, maybe LGA. Please post.

we already knew you were insane :-)
Plane ticket purchased last night. Game tickets purchased this morning.
See you in Minnesota!
Yea - Im in Banshee's camp.
Took the plunge.
got myself a plane ticket (with car rental) for 360.
All it took was a CC number and a click of the mouse and now there's no looking back.
LETS GO RED.

I'll be there!

I am so f'ing jealous of all of you. I hope that there is a place to watch the game in Iowa City.
Hell, I hope I can find a place to watch the 12:30 AM tape delay in Iowa City. (I can avoid the information until then, right?)
I'm down, along with 2 others...
LGR!
edit: Hmm... perhaps not. Still hoping to...
i'm in now, along with jamie "devil horns"
today i wore my harvard sucks shirt to harvard classes. i figured having 1,000 people hate me would be a good practice for 9,000 people hating me in minnesota. then again, no one cared today. shows how much i know.
-mike '04
I'll be there.
(As if there were ever REALLY any doubt. :-D)
M-I-N-N-E-S-O-T-A here we come! count me in:-D
for the love of god, can those of us going organize ourselves into a standing visitors section?
i concur

Bring home a couple of wins. Wish we were joining you.
1,000 people hating you in Cambridge? ROFLMAO. I'll bet both of Harvard's fans were elsewhere today. Skinny naked guy was probably off buying more makeup to cover his wimpy bod. And button-down asshole was probably getting his shirts (or would that be shorts) heavily starched.
We'll look for you on the tube, if they decide to show the game.

yup, i'm in.
anyone going have an extra red hockey jersey I can borrow when there?
Robin
Finally...a roadtrip that actually makes sense to have a "Roll Call" thread for.
I'm there.
I take it everyone is in section 2.
Anyone planning on taking over a sport bar/grill Saturday evening?
no idea what section we're in- were all the cu tix in the same section?
i agree with mike's suggestion about a bar/grill saturday, let's hope we have something to celebrate. anyone have one to suggest?
mike
[Q]A-19 Wrote:

I believe all the Cornell tickets are in section 2.

i heard the committee really wanted to give us section 1, but the mathematics didn't work out so we had to move one section west
good one, thanks for the laugh.

I have a data analysis project due the 28th, well overdue midterms to grade and hand back, and I lecture on Mondays. That, and I'm broke.
I feel your pain.
:(
not sure if it's been covered here already but cornell practices at 3:15 pm friday at mariucci. maine at 11:30 am, mn at 12:45 pm, osu at 2 pm. all are open to the public
in case anyone is a fan of swimming and/or looking to kill time before/after games, the men's ncaa swimming championships are taking place thursday through saturday at the u of m aquatic center (one building away from mariucci arena). preliminary heats start at 1 pm each day and finals take place at 7 pm each day. i believe only one cornellian has qualified
Any update on the sports bar/grill idea for Minneapolis?

Last minute decision.
I'm there!

There's a Champps Sports Bar at 100 North 6th St., in the downtown area right by the Target Center. The only Champps I've been to was in the Chicago south suburbs for Week 17 of the NFL season and it was excellent with lots of TV's, usually in clusters of three, and a very accomodating staff.
I'm not scheduled to land until 7:15 but may go over there to check out the end of the late hockey games. It also says on the internet that they've got wi-fi, so you can stay in touch with elynah from there.
