McKee ought to be careful about the funny bounes off boards when the puck is cleared around.

Yeah the ice is a little bright, but you can still see the puck and all.

Post by: French Rage on March 18, 2005, 05:07:16 PM
End of 1st.  Pretty back and forth, no one really kept possession for awhile, each team has a few good chances.  There didnt seem to be much Fallon could do for Scott's goal, he was shielded and good aim by Scott.

French pretty good summary
For some reason I just on seeing O'Byrne making horrible plays.  He coughed the puck up at least twice in our zone, when he had little pressure on him.  Lets hope we dont see a Clarkson thing from him tonight.

So far it seems to be a pretty clean game, there might of been one or two incidents that could be called, but you have to expect there to be less calls at this time of the year

I'd say the defense has been a little nervous, but McKee's covered well for them

jbaeber, I think it's from when they changed their name a couple years back and people were suggesting funny names for them.  Fighting Deerticks sort of stuck the best.

15 seconds on Vermont PP left.

Cornell seemed to be the better team in the 2nd, but not dominating, still very much like the 1st.  The Moulson SHG breakaway leading to the PP was the mahor moment of the period.

Faithful coming in soooooo loud on the Vermont radio broadcast....[/q]

Vermont had two sections (116-117?) right next to the Cornell block (105-115) and the Vermont fans frequently tried to start the Go Cats Go cheer; we drowned them out every time and a young alumni/student section served as an insulator between the Cornell and Vermont blocks.  There were about 5 young Vermont fans at the bottom of the Vermont block that tried to mix it up with the Cornell fans but they quickly realized it was a losing battle when a few hundred Cornell fans chanted directly at them. :-D

"I thought the players played the game to win tonight," said UVM head coach Kevin Sneddon. "We said all week that we were not coming to Albany to participate, but to win the Cleary Cup."[/q]

The Big Red moves on to play the winner of the Colgate-Harvard semifinal for the ECACHL tourney title tomorrow night.

"We're just glad to be in the championship game," said Schafer. "The only thing I'm hoping for is a five or six overtime game that goes until 4 a.m."
