Hobey baker finalist Colin Murphy signed a two year contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs and is expected to play in the ahl this weekend for the Saint Johns Maple Leafs. (the maple leafs ahl affiliate to state the obvious)

ummm that's not possible. he must have signed with the St. Johns Maple Leafs because with no CBA in place, players cannot sign NHL contracts.
As the season of the better schools come to an end over the next few days, you're going to be seeing more and more of this.
Someone on USCHO mentioned this is going to hurt his Hobey chances...rubbish.
Tarkki on the other hand...he gave up 6 goals to AF this afternoon...see ya Tarrki, you goon! (take that Rich! ;-) He's now in all of our heads...therefore, he wins)
