Title: Tickets in Minneapolis
Post by: Jeff Hopkins '82 on March 16, 2005, 12:16:38 PM
In case anyone is curious, I just called the Minnesota ticket office and there are no more tickets available to the general public through them.

If we get stuck in Minneapolis, our only option is from the allotment sent to the schools.  The person I spoke to did not know how many seats that was, but if the posts on NCAA squeakball are any indication, it ain't many.

Or unless you're like me and a hockey fan living in central Iowa, you'll take your chances driving up the road and seeing what you can get from scalpers.  But I imagine that's not too many people on this board.

I'm sure some people will be selling their regional tickets on the USCHO message board, especially after the Selection Show.  So I'd keep an eye on that.

I expect scalper tickets for this to be much harder to come by than the east regionals.  Most of the tickets have probably been bought by Minnesota fans and Minnesota will definitely be there.

OTOH, I'd be surprised if so many Cornellians made the trip that you couldn't get tickets if you tried as soon as they went on sale.

Bingo... Cornell's allotment will likely not sell out if we get sent to Minnesota - or at least not sell out quickly.  Just go through the Cornell ticket office if that's what happens.

I hope not.  But if Schafer reserved two sections for friends and family this weekend, plus the band goes out, and the total is only about 300 seats like in squeakball, it'll still be a tough seat.

Given that, when did the ticket office start selling Albany tickets, so I know when tio call Monday should the problem present itself?

They started selling them Monday at 10 am. But they'll be a press release about it just like there was last week, on the new, not-improved www.cornellbigred.com
