It's pretty standard for seniors to sign as soon as the season ends. He'll probably take incompletes and come back and finish in the summer.
Didn't Danis do that last year as well?
Very common practice. He will finish up whatever classes/credits he needs to in the summer or at another time. I hardly doubt he is dropping out of school with two months left.
yea and so did some guy fron Niagara and a few other guys. McFeeters from Clarkson too i think.
Would this make a player ineligible for the hobey baker award? I know he doesn't have a shot at it but if a player had a shot to win it, would it disqualify him?
Brian,
I don't think so. I'm pretty sure Peter Sejna had already played in his first NHL game before he was given Lenny's Hobey Baker award :)
Yeah, Sejna had played in the NHL when he won it and Danis had played in some pro games last year before the winners were announced.
Right you are. Sejna only played in one game that season but he did score a goal ... on Patrick Roy I think

Oh how I miss the nights of looking at those box scores.
According to an RPI press release from today, Economakos was just given ECACHL All-Academic recognition for the third time. http://board.uscho.com/showpost.php?p=1883168&postcount=217. I am sure that he has made arrangements to complete his degree.

It was actually the last regular season goal Roy gave up in his career.
foolish conclusion on your part. :-}
hey rich ... sit on it
Yep,
Every true Avs fan remebers the game, and the goal. The announcers coudn't get enough of Sejna, and then the little Colorado player had the gall to score or Roy.
Back the good old days...
Yes, but the voting had almost surely been completed by the time Sejna left school. Not the case here. Of course, not many guys in Hobey consideration are likely to have their season over at this point...

Danis?
i believe that economakos has managed to stay on the dean's list for his entire tenure at rpi and actually elected to do an honors thesis project this year, so i doubt he'll pass on graduating with honors... albeit delayed... go bullies!

I'm always happy when I hear about student-athletes who actually take the student part seriously. (http://board.uscho.com/images/icons/icon14.gif)
