Since I'll be joining in the middle of the first period, I thought I'd start a thread now for sorting out the webcasts of tonight's games.
The SLU feed is supposed to be http://web.stlawu.edu/sports/radio_broadcast.html or directly: http://web.stlawu.edu/sports/slu.mov
It looks like Dartmouth is supposed to have video at http://www.dartmouth.edu/%7Emhockey/webcast/index.html or directly: http://quicktime.dartmouth.edu/hockey_stream.mov
Dartmouth's schedule page lists women's squeakball and women's hockey on their audio feeds.
Direct links to Harvard feeds from http://www.whrb.org/ : http://www.live365.com/play/whrb or http://www.live365.com/play/whrb2
for the slu game web cast- is it only live or is it going to be archived someplace so i can watch it when i get home at 1 am?
uh, keep dreaming :-) - SLU is not doing video
Does anyone have a connection fast enough for the Darmouth video?
Mine is streaming at 1.5 Mbps (pretty much maxing out my connection), and has the "quality" listed as 35 to 40%
I know my DSL isn't blazing like some cable can be, but its still more than 4 times fast enough to support XMI. What kind of crazy bandwidth is that stream using??
You're getting *anything* of the Dartmouth-Harvard game?
Yup, I'm getting .5 to 1.5 frames/sec - only after opening it directly in QT Player though. In the browser it wasn't even that.
Just closed it though, wasn't worth it.
Video is a little choppy, but good enough for me.
Rich,
Just for my curiosity, how fast is it streaming for you?
Go to "Show Movie Info" and it'll show the Bit Rate and Quality.

I'm getting 12% quality and 400 kbits/sec using a cable modem...very choppy
I'm getting service unavailabe on the SLU feed. Settings are good. Too many connections maybe?

I'm wondering if anyone out there has a 4, 5, 6 megabit connection, and if even they can get full quality?
Well, good, "low tech" way to assure that only on campus people can take advantage of the stream.

Quality: ~22%
Cable modem.
Edit: now up to ~75% Quality, but it's intermission.
