it is now 11 and there is no news about an agreement. Bettmen will have a press confernece at 1 pm on ESPN to what people are saying cancel the season.
Please see the other thread. The NHL appears to be making one more last ditch offer according to SportsNet.
As Ari pointed out, Bettman said 11 a.m., but he also said Sunday. So let's wait until 1 p.m. before we make a thread with this title.

Bettman is a disgrace to the ILR school. Everyone knows that if you make a deadline or say that you won't budge from your position, and then renege, you lose all credibility in negotiating.
I'm guessing he didn't take the Collective Bargaining Simulation course with H. Kramer.
He's already lost a lot of credibility in fans' eyes, which is all that really matters. It seems to me that he really had little to lose, because if there's no NHL, he's effectively out of a job anyway.
There has been no announcement of the season's cancelation and there will not be until 1 at the earliest. Therefore the statement that the season has been canceled is false - at least right now.
I agree with alan andrews -"Call the proverbial fat lady and ask her to warm up her chops."
All standard rhetoric to try to effect the other side. That is what all this will be until it is officially canceled.
According to NHL.com the Devils and Flyers match up at 7pm tomorrow night as do the Rangers and the Blue Jackets. At 7:30pm we've got the Oilers-Canadiens, Islanders-Lightening and Blues-Red Wings. For the nightcaps Bruins-Coyotes brawl and then the Flames and Shawks close out the night. I can't wait to get home, fire up the TV for some good 2005 NHL Hockey.
What? It's canceled you say? Oh well, that's good. Cause I just realized that the Red Sox and Tigers pitchers and catchers are reporting tomorrow. I have much better things to worry about than the stupidity of the NHL and the NHLPA. Maybe with time apart the heart will grow fonder and fans will enjoy the NHL in a few years.
its official
Press Conference on ESPN/ESPNnews now.
