131:57 streak for McKee. The Cornell record is 189:48 by Brian Cropper.

Greg typed in Cornell PP#1 a few times...turns out it was just an offsides call :-P ;-)

They do know how to whine about officiating though
I would love Colgate announcing crew updates... :-)
Penalty on Colgate; 5x3 coming up.

On a side note, I agree... The Colgate announce crew is a little rough on my ears. They sure do complain a lot. I expect that from a partisan announce crew, but they usually wait awhile before becoming this annoying.
I can't make out any cheers either, but you can chalk that up to my inferior (antique) speakers.

Streak ends. Gate scores on pp.
colgate scores on the PP
Colgate evens it up. One announcer has apparently taken annoying lessons from Dick Vitale.

McKee made some kind of save (I didn't see it obviously, since I'm listening), the crowd went wild, and the color guy thought it was stupid of the crowd to cheer for what was (in his opinion) such as easy save. Cornell fans are supposed to be quiet or something I guess... I'm probably overreacting since he's so annoying. Maybe it was actually meant to be a compliment, but it didn't really sound like one. You guys are going to kill me for not knowing this, but which band plays the Ben Folds music? Colgate or Cornell? I heard it last night too (took me a minute to recognize it). It might not even be a Ben Folds original, but I heard him play it when he was at Cornell a couple years ago.

Iggy will be the intermission interview
I agree Chris this guy is a huge homer and unbelievably difficult to listen to
Winchester does a good job bringing it in, working it and putting it on net McKee stops him. End to end action now.
"nothing's happening...nothing's happening...everyone's leaving...they looked pissed"
Pretty back and forth as the period is winding down
More good saves by McKee. Cornell has mostly controlled the period, but when Colgate has broken out of its end it has had high quality chances.
A loud "Let's go Gate" cheer?

Oh god... this Colgate announcer is atrocious. First he whines for about 2 minutes about the penalty, then following our goal he passionately belts out:
"THE SCORE IS ALEX DELL 2, COLGATE 1!"
What a hack.
I thought my head was going to explode when he was screaming "AWFUL! AWFUL!" over and over again. Maybe he'll be quiet now that we've scored. We're probably not that lucky though.

Shots in our favor; Abbott 12-1 on face-offs
69-69
Going to overtime!
-Chris '03
Chris Abbott...
Talk about third period role...Defensive zone faceoffs...they're very important...gives a lot of credit to the coaching staff for scouting Colgate on that game winning rush
Have you learned tricks from Joe? He has worked hard with the faceoff guys and Chris is confident all of their draw percentages have gone up.
Coach decided to put him back with his brother and he thinks they have chemistry but he can play with anybody. Ray is a great player and opens up the ice with his big hits.
Too comfortable playing together last year with your brother? Playing apart is good but it's nice to be back with his brother...their line won't be the prettiest line but they work extremely hard

I just talked to a friend of mine at the game. We'd be discussing before i moved south how the crowd seemed dead for most of the games.
"Good game - the crowd is finally into it!"
So its more than just a louder mic :-D
It's the flaw of the PWR. It overweights strength of schedule (IMO). If the good teams keep playing each other, they all wind up with decent RPIs. Then all they have do do is beat a few non-conference TUCs and they're all up there. Even the awful teams from their conference wind up TUCs, and the good teams from the conference wind up in the top 10 of the PWR

Late catching up to the chat, but the best thing the Colgate announcer said wasn't "Alex Dell 2, Colgate 1" (though that was pretty good). It was when he gave a Colgate defenseman credit for the Pegoraro goal because the D-man made a great play, sliding to block the shot and deflecting it over Silverthorn.

Well, can't complain too much about 3 out of 4 points against Colgate. Can complain about how it happened a little. 8 unbeaten and this makes it 10-0-1 at home? Lets see how PWR shakes out tonight.
Too bad we couldn't win this one, but three ponts on the weekend against Gate is pretty darn good! Gotta run! It's been fun folks!

anyone going to start one? or are we all scared ::nut::
[q]Greg broke the two game series up into a nine inning baseball game...a fun way to track the score across both games...I think Al alluded last night that two game series used to have an aggregate score to determine the winner?[/q]In the 80's the NCAA's used to use a two-game total goals format in the first round of the 8 team tournament. So it was effectively a 120 minute game. Cornell got burned by this in 86. They lost the first game to Denver 4-2 and won the second 4-3, but lost the series 7-6.
I don't think the ECAC playoffs ever used this system, though I could be wrong. The ECAC did use the brilliant mini-game and first to three point options though.

The ECAC never used the two-game total goals format. Only the first-round NCAA series, and perhaps first-round WCHA series.
The mini-game was awful, but first-to-three-points wasn't so bad.

I can suffer through the Colgate feed, even if they DID play Ace of Base during the pre-game.

I wonder if someone brought a good sign to the game tonight...[/q]
Just reading through some of the game thread, and I saw this and laughed. Adam, maybe noone else noticed, but I found it clever :-).
