Who else will be coming?
It is spelled Micaela :)
I'll be there in a group of 6 huge fans, but most of them don't post here regularly, so you probably won't know their names.
So far, then, that's:
Anne
Beeeej
Mark
Christine

P.S. Rich - one of 'em Torch by any chance?
I will be there Saturday with family and a friend of mine who's a college hockey fan (he goes to UConn but I made him promise to behave during the MAAC game B-] ).
-Fred, DeltaOne81 '03
I'll be there Saturday for sure. Sunday is up in the air since I don't currently have tickets for my group; if Cornell wins Saturday I'll be the guy outside desparately trying to convince somebody to sell me a group of 5 Sunday tickets. :-)
The Doyle boys will be there for both days. I'll be in my red #8 and Adam will have his red #16.
No, but one of them is me.
Aha!! Finally, a concrete way of telling you two apart!
Beeeej
Ben's the one with the vest. :-P
i was wondering, will the band be in Worcester? if so, which section are they going to be in? anybody know?
EDIT: woops, i saw the answer in another thread..heh
Ben is the dark eyed brooding irish handsome one and Adam is the good looking guy next door with the goofy grin one.
(Hey, it was a looong ride home from Placid.... ::nut:: )
Yup. . .I've got the tan vest and Adam has that silly-ass black hat:-D
I'll be there Sunday - if you see a guy in a Dartmouth jersey, it's probably me.
I'm trying to get a checklist together of people whom I need to shoot a digital photo of. My goal this year is to put a pic of *everybody* I communicate with re: hockey in TBRW? If you need to ask why, imagine yourself as a college hockey fan in Oregon... then imagine yourself marooned in Antarctica.
I'll be there with Lauren on Saturday. Won't be able to stay for the Sunday game, though. (and there damn well better BE a Sunday game.)
Adam '01, Graham '02, and Corinne '02 will be there. Section 228 on Saturday, Section 330 on Sunday. See everyone there.
Of course there will be a Sunday game. We just don't know who will be playing yet :-D
Add me to the list of attendees, tho you already got a picture of me at LP. Section 220 on one day and 222 on the other (don't ask me which one which day), but hopefully people will move around like at LP.
I'm pretty sure Judy is going with Melissa. (There was talk of not drinking so much this time.)
:`( Can't go - I'm a slave to The Man.
I will be watching here, and cheering with all of you. B-]
Ouch JTW! :-P :-( ;-)
Seriously tho. You got that right! I swear to everyone that I am not normally that bad. Rarely do I drink and I guess last week-end I went a little overboard. There will be little to no alcohol this week-end. Though for the record, with or without alcohol I AM that foolish.
I'll be there with Chris Rodger and Anne.
Yes, JTW is correct, I do plan on being there. Greg, I think you left me off your list.
Greg
Jackie, Daniel, Lucas and I will be at the games.
We got section 121 from the Cornell ticket office
today. See you all there.
Doug
Donna and I will be there both days--unless the unthinkable happens and I slip into a deep depression on the drive home Saturday. ::uhoh::
> Greg, I think you left me off your list.
Nope, but I did turn you into a "Temporary Julie." Sorry.
> I AM that foolish
Good. THAT part was fun.
double ouch!:-(
Sherri and I are coming, don't know yet about the younger Steph. She may have a better offer. ::worry::
On Sunday, John Beaber '98 (in Chartrand 21) , Anne Savage '98, Jamilah Jemison '97, Lisa McGill '97 (in Peach 17), Matt Borthwick '95, Darren Leung and others hanging out in 224. There MAY be extra tickets, check back Thursday. I bought 20 (group sales rocks) and 15 are claimed thus far. Waiting to hear on a few others. If you are looking for tixfor Sunday, check back Thursday....
I may have extra for Sat. and Sun.. I'll also know Thurs..
Anyone who heard me griping about my headache before and during the early semifinal Friday knows that "overboard" applied to more than one person's drinking last weekend. ::nut:: But at least none of our banners was as foolish as "Win or lose, we booze". :-P
Incidentally, let me just point out for anyone who didn't see it how cool the Cornell section looked with the entire railing of the upper deck covered with M&J's banners plus the "Big Red Country" sign and Age's Canadian flag. Way to tell the whole arena "We are here!" (I hope they did a long enough wide shot on TV for the viewers to take it all in.)
And speaking of cool, props to the RPI and Clarkson bands for each taking an anthem before the consolation game, after the Olympic Center played nothing before the early semi and we had to scramble for anthems between an a capella "Star Spangled Banner" from the Faithful and a hard-to-make-out "O Canada" from the Tech band. I think all three contingents demonstrated we know the importance of national anthem rituals much better than the folks responsible for the juxtaposition of sanctimonious announcements about not "cheering" during the US anthem with a lack of official anthems before the early games. (This means the Powers That Be were responsible for a total of three national anthem performances to the four from the fans and band, not even counting the usual a capella "O Canada" at the Cornell games, which had to compete with "I said ARE YOU READY? Then let's GET IT ON!!!")
Quote(I hope they did a long enough wide shot on TV for the viewers to take it all in.)
No such luck. The only crowd shot they did was of the "Go Big Red" body paint folks. They made the "ANSKY" guys look sexy.
At one point, i did see the Big Red Country banner
How about the Canadian flag?
And how about the Swedish flag? ;-)
I'm not sure if this has already been discussed (. . .I'm on break and too lazy to go back and check). . .who is staying where? I have yet to make reservations and was wondering if there is one particular place the Faithful are going to stay. If there is, please let me know b/c I would like to get a room there or somewhere relatively close to that hotel.
Hey Ben, I bid on a room through Priceline. Got a two double bed room at the Comfort Inn in Auburn (8 minutes from the rink) for $45 a night. The rooms on the Comfort Inn website were going for $80-$100 a night, so I certainly recommend Priceline.
Folks, for all it's worth I'll be there up in the high balcony 311 I think - bringing my son and a friend to help yell loudly for the Big RED!!
Cheers, Lou
:-))Thanks a bunch Adam. . .got a room at the Auburn Ramada for $45!!! :-))

lgr!
How about the Dougie Murray Fan Club makes it even cooler by learning and signing the Swedish national anthem?
Actually, I thought that next year the band should play it and we all can sing.
Two more......add
Beth Chagrasulis '80 and Chris Moberg '79
We are clearly enough that if we picked someplace to meet after the game we would be very welcome ($ for the proprietor).

If I forget, remind me. Thanks.
Micaela got one of the View Askew jerseys? Awesome!!!
She's had it for a while. She used to wear it more when we had season tickets but hasn't been wearing it as much in the last 2 years.
Here's a link to the lyrics:

Well, even if it's not new, cool.
Gotta learn to sing it in Swedish, perhaps with Doug helping out with proper pronunciation.
Good news, the Swedish flag will be present at Worcester! We'll see what we can do about the anthem. Please add another four Swedes and a Japaneese to the list:

We have to remember to add "x-number" of parents & 25 of our beloved Big Red bandies. . .;-)looks like we are going to break 100!
Greg, since you appear to be noting such things, I'll be wearing a red #29 jersey.
Mmmm, excessive detail. :-P
I'll be there, with 4 others... Just look for two face-painted freaks (no, I'm not one of them)....
Good Craine. Bad Craine. Good Craine. Bad Craine. Good Craine. Bad Craine. Good. Bad. Good. Bad. Good. Bad.
Actually, I was thinking of bringing Chad out of retirement for this weekend, which would leave Vinny for someone else in our party to borrow, along with my as-yet-unnamed Denis road jersey. And Mark will be wearing an also-as-yet-unnamed Svoboda jersey.
S-V-O-B-O-D-A, Svoboda, Svoboda!
Damn I miss that cheer!
Mark Anbinder is '89
P-A-O-L-I-N-I, POW-leeni! POW-leeni!
Is Jim coming to Worcester?
I want candy to throw to the crowd. Any other faithful who would like to supply candy if Jim isn't coming are more than welcome.
CU Bear
yeah. am quite sure jim is coming. for how long has he been the candy guy?
The tall, older guy who slings candy around has been doing it for as long as I can remember.
I think your memory is getting a bit fudgy. I don't remember him doing it before Placid '00. Of course, my memory could just be fudgy.
I have to say that, knowing no Swedish (but too much English), I have an issue with the translation. "Ye": is a second person plural pronoun in English, and "du" uis clearly a fsecond person singluar, so the appropriate translation would be "Thou free, ancient country" instead. (Cf. "O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.")

I haven't updated it yet, but Anne, Christine, x1, x2, x3, x4, and Greg will be in in Section 332, Row J, seats 1 to 7 on Saturday and in Section 239, Row N, seats 1 to 7 on Sunday, while x5, x6, x7, and x8 will be nearby Section 332 on Saturday and not sure where on Sunday, where for xN substitute either Age, Mark, Jeff, Judy, Melissa, John Hayes, Micaela or a fan to be named later (Rich H.?)
i will be there with a friend, in section 121 both days
LGR!!
I'm with you. This ever growing list is making me ever more jealous.
Quit your job and come to the games.
It worked for me...
Yeah, hey, I'm coming. And Age is closer than Greg. Sherri and I were trying to figure out when we started the candy. It's since the late-90's, but which year we haven't settled on. No doubt it's gotten bigger recently, but as long as people enjoy it, we'll go with it.
So Bear, I'll be there in the CU section. Unfortunately we won't make the first game, so we'll have to look for each other before the game.
