3 14:08 Cor Moulson 15 (Bitz 9, Hynes 15)
SLU will be a very different team than Cornell is used to seeing. They have a big time offense that will hit you in many ways. Cornell got beat a little more than usual in the defensive neutral zone transition last night and that area in particular is where SLU's bread and butter is. Marsh is notorious for mixing and matching his lines, so the matchups for Cornell's lines and pairings are very important. Their overall defensive scheme, however, is brutal. I'm hoping Gleed returns tonight, but if he doesn't, Glover is going to have to play a lot more than he did last night, because the defensemen will be seeing a lot more work tonight than usual. I would really like to see Cornell play a full 60 minutes tonight and not be outscored in the third period. Cornell could potentially blow these guys out if they stick to their system, or this could end up being more of an offensive affair than we have grown accustomed to (like 4-3 or 5-4).
Saints fans on USCHO were nearly suicidal last night at how bad their squad looked against Colgate. Their offense was completely neutralized, and as noted, if their O isn't on, they're dead meat. I'd expect them to come out with huge jump early, and if the CU defense can hold them off, get more and more frustrated as the game goes on.
Cornell doesn't play many proficient offensive teams during the RS, so this is a good test.
pokulok not playing due to sprained wrist from what ive heard... salmela might take his spot i dont know... he'll have a giant pair of shoes to fill in...
I'd like to see Salmela get a shot. He was very solid in the 3 games I saw him play last year - Florida and at Harvard. He seemed less prone to mistakes than the other freshman D and didn't take bad penalties either. I suspect he may be a little rusty if he plays.
I guess it'll depend on whether Gleed is back or not. Otherwise, not the team you want to be two defenseman down against.
If Gleed and Pokulok are out, then it is:
Downs
Cook
O'Byrne
Krantz
Glover
Salmela
That's it; no other D on the squad. I suppose they could move McLeod or McKeown back to the blueline if either has any experience there, but I'd be happy with Glover and Salmela in the short term.
Hasn't Pegs played some blue line?
Salmela-Glover will be paired tonight! ::twitch::
Where are these SLU(t) announcers getting 6 shutouts??? They must be counting the ones both for and against us.
Band sounds GREAT tonight
Glover-Cook and Salmela-O'Byrne in practice. That's better. :-)
Cornell having trouble getting it out of their end
SLU buzzing in our end. Sounds like they've come out better than in Hamilton.
Bitz with a great rush; McKenna a big save.
Great chance on a breakaway by Bitz!
Dartmouth up 1-0 vs RPI.
The Faithful sound really, really good tonight.
Hynes is a beast.
UNH 1-0 up on UML. Very different than last night so far :)
Clarkson 1 Colgate 0 in the first. :-)
I predict Got 6 on USCHO will whine about the officials.
Is there an irc chat?
Sawada draws a penalty on Bagnall; CU (leading the NCAA in pp) going on pp #1.
Big Red pp coming up
Cornell going on the PP - 8:58 1st
i dunno
Right. I'm sure Dell is "out to get" SLU with that penalty call.

starting right...wait for it...now!!!
As long as he's not on eLynah....
Gametracker had shots at 9-2 Cornell before the penalty began.
That's gotta be wrong if the SLUt broadcasters are anywhere close to accurate.
pp expires, but good movement and a nice chance in front, hitting off heel of O'Byrne's stick.
I don't know about the shots, but the SLU announcers are the joke of the league. They've been the worst, by far, for at least three seasons now. Ridiculous homers, ignorant, and needlessly incendiary. Funny, because the Clarkson team just across the way is excellent, so it aint for audience appeal.
Another Cornell PP coming up.
Maybe Got 6 is buckin' to be their color man. :-P

Worse than Brown?
Much worse.
CU 0x2 on pp. SOG: 14-2.
Even strength, though the puck never left the SLUt zone on the PP.
Cornell kept the puck in the SLU zone for about the whole 2 minutes, and had a lot of shots, but PP expires.
Shots now 12-2 Cornell
And so far, I think the Brown announcers were much worse.
Yale 1 Harvard 0, 1st.
Gametracker shots are 15-2. I swear O'Byrne's played 15 minutes of this period.
And dare I say it...
End of 1, no score.
Frustrating to outshoot by 19-2 and have nothing to show for it. :-(
Dartmouth and Vermont sleepwalking to their sweeps, both up 2-zip on the Cap District.
Definately seem to be playing a lil better in the first than they did last night. Lots of chances, just no score.
Harvard's tied Yale at 1
and UML ties up UNH, 3 minutes left in the first
Edit: 1-1, end of 1
and Got6 is complaining about the refs on USCHO. That took longer than I thought.
this game ::snore::
Oh, bitch bitch bitch!
is there a free broadcast tonight?
Back underway.
Yep, check out the free audio link at left.
O'byrne in the box.
check the free net audio link on the left (just below "ticket exchange"), A-19.
Nice stop by McKee on a screened shot!
"macho macho man"
Clank!
Yeah, I heard that too.
Ugh.
Full strength. SLUt with some good chances, but McKee comes up big.
14:40 left in the 2nd. Still no score.

C'mon, it's the one game where the cheer is relevant.
Cook breaks up the 2 on 1 in beeee-utiful style (intercepted the pass in his skates)
SLUt has a 2 on 1, but Cook breaks it down.
SLU getting a little more pressure this period. Shots 5-1 SLUt.
Vart/Iggy 2-on-1 falls apart; I guess they're not exactly Moulson/Hynes. :-)
Now the puck knocked into the SLU net but it looks like no goal, and now a penalty but against whom is a mystery.
thanks for the audio info guys, listening now
can hear the crowd very well
Cornell going on the PP - 7:16 of the 2nd
Cornell pp#3 comin up.
UML 2, UNH 1 - early in the 2nd
Ha and Jayson Moy tells us to calm down. ::laugh::
Back to even strength. Cornell 0-3.
Do we want UNH to win that one?
Clarkson 2 Colgate 0, 2nd
[Q]atb9 Wrote:

Probably. UML's on a ridiculous streak.
I gotta say, McKee's getting better and better. He used to be good enough, but now he seems to have the ability to steal a goal or two, or a game.

It would help us keep/widen the lead in record against TUCs.
Cornell vs Mass.-Lowell
.5724 1 RPI 0 .5670
6-4-2 .5833 1 TUC 0 .5667 7-5-3
7-2-0 .7778 1 COp 0 .6429 4-2-1
0-0-0 0 H2H 0 0-0-0
3 TOT 0
Colgate down 2-0
This sounds like a 25 minute pp. We better score soon, I have heard too many games where a team dominates right up until a mistake lets the other team take the lead...
[Q]Greg Berge Wrote:

checked--your turn. ;-)
Cornell pp#4 on a trip.
SLUt announcers whining that Knoepfli fell down, but Cornell goes on the PP for the 4th time.
End of 2nd, scoreless.
UNH 3-2
End of two - Still no score.
The third is going to be a killer.
In my distraction of the Cornell game, UNH 3, UML 2 - and they just got out of a dangerous situation, 6 minutes left in the 2nd.
Clarkson leading Gate 2-0 late in the 2nd while being outshot 23-12.
A nail biter for sure...especially with Colgate trailing 2-0.
LGR!
Harvard up 3-2 at the Whale.
That could almost be the case here if not for McKee and a post
Whatever happens in the 3rd, what a great job tonight by the D, especially Salmela and Glover, growing up quick.
Cornell 0x4 on pp tonight.
Reported on USCHO: Yale ties up Harvard, 3-3.

Shots: 30-13.

Pegoraro Going in the box at 2:17
Chris Abbott sets up Knoepfli on a sh rsuh but no shot. SLU now pressuring in CU end.
