Oh, no, 42 seconds in. At least it's just 2 minutes. The refs are gonna kill us again tonight. Wait, the game hasn't started yet. Never mind.
(Okay, I'm getting anxious for the game to start, too.)
Actually I remembered when I got home.. It had enough time to cook a decent dinner rather than something "on the go" before heading back to work to listen to the game. I like the 8 o'clock start time better. But, 7 isn't so bad, sure beats the 4 pm/west coast start times!
Let's go Red!!
Rita
The lines announced so far:
Moulson - Pegoraro - Hynes
Knoepfli - Bitz - Scott (i may have heard this line wrong, I'm sure the 2nd line had Bitz & Scott)
Abbott - Abbott- Sawada
Gleed out, Glover in.
Varteressian - Iggulden - Carefoot is the 4th line.
Colgate leadng SLU 1-0 and outshooting them, get this, 15-2.
Can't believe I'm saying this (given the other options), but free audio from Clarkson tonight is at http://streamingmedia.clarkson.edu/ . How good/bad are their announcers?
wow. are you guys listening to Rolls' interview? He is very blunt, basically saying that his team sucks right now and Cornell does everything they should be doing. He barely stopped short of saying it'll take a miracle to win tonight.
I have to agree with him, though. And he isn't saying it in a nasty, whiny way - he actually seems completely reasonable, but it isn't often that you hear that kind of assessment from a coach.
Is the free audio from Clarkson working for you? Nothing happens on my computer.
I'm getting audio with xmi events
I don't know about now, but in the early 90's Clarkson, along with Vermont, was the best college hockey broadcast short of Grady Whittenburg.
Free Clarkson audio is working for me.
Lynah in full voice tonight for Oh Canada.
Halfway through the 2nd: Harvard 5 Princeton 0
Clarkson an early pp.
Colgate 2 SLU 0
Vermont 2 RPI 1,
mid 2nd
Back to even strength.
RPI ties up UVM, 2-2. That'd be nice.

::twitch::
Cornell pp coming up.
Northern Michigan 2 - Michigan 1 15:18 2nd period
Even strength.
Clarkson pp#2 coming up.
Period ends with 1:21 to go on Clarkson pp; 0-0.
Clarkson very aggressive on the forecheck. Wouldn't have noticed they were playing that period with a short bench. Hope we step it up in the second. Gotta be sharper in our own end, especially with breakouts.
UVM now up, 3-2. Outshooting RPI 31-10.
Lowell 5 UNH 0, after 2.
BC 5 - UMass. 0 after 2
Northern Michigan 3 - Michigan 1 end 2nd period
Colgate up 3-0.
McKee stops a tricky redirect. Cornell kills off the pp.
3rd:
Brown 4 - Yale 3
Vermont 3 - RPI 2
Dartmouth 5 - Union 1
Harvard 6 - Princeton 0
Colgate 3 - SLU 0
Cornell pp coming up.
SCORES!
1-0 - Sawada!
I love CSTV :-D :-D
2 5:54 Cor pp Sawada 4 (Knoepfli 5, Pegoraro 7)
On the ensuing faceoff, Downs hits the post.
for those without the benefit of instant replay, or video for that matter, it was a great redirection
Pegs has the puck in the near corner, like a foot above the goal line - Sawada was in front, - Pegs 'shot' it towards the goalie and Sawada popped it up on the air, over the goalie's shoulder and in the far side of the net
Edit: and as I say that, Pegs stopped on the breakaway, only half got off the shot, and good positioning by the Clarkson goalie
Picking up a little steam now....:-)
2-0!! Knoepfli
2 on 1 breakaway developed, Scott took the shot, kick saved to Knoepfli, who flicked it in... great effort by Scott to cause the situation, poise my Knoepfli to knock it in
2 9:07 Cor Knoepfli 6 (Scott 11, Bitz 8)
Vermont beats RPI, 3-2.
Harvard thumps Princeton, 7-0.
Clarkson pp coming up.

Oh geez, that makes us feel great.
Union's GF in their last 9 ECAC games: 100110031 = 7
well, umm, the under-18 team is really good this year?
MSU outshot them 49-23
Even strength again. I wish Andy would shut up about Cornell looking "in control." It's only 2 goals.

Are we getting close to clinching anything? Maybe we can't finish in last place in the ECAC?
Jason Weinstein is being a bit of an ass to Hynes. "could your line do better?" "are you happy with how you're playing?"
A 19 pt team can still theoretically finish last. For that matter so can a 21 pt team, although the h2hs between the low pt teams would probably make that statistically impossible this late in the season.
But the answer is, so far, no, they haven't clinched nuthin'.

Easy boy :-}
We're 15 points ahead of last place Yale. They have 9 games to go. Even if we win tonight, we could still, mathematically only of course, finish last. Colgate is 18 ahead of Yale, so they couldn't worse than tie (and if you think I'm doing the tiebreakers, you're crazy).
Lesson learned: there's plenty of season left :)

Ok, don't want to anger the hockey gods. I was careful in my choice of words. Then I looked at http://www.tbrw.info/ecac/ecacPtsByPlace.html for some statistics on previous years. I shall leave it at that.

And moves up to 7 in the PWR - for now. Good news is if the season ended today they wouldn't be in our regional.
Our PWRful neighbors, tonight:
3 Minny vs UMD
4 Denver vs UAA
5 Michigan lost to 16 NMU
6 Cornell vs Clarkson
7 Lowell beat 12 UNH
8 BU idle
9 Colgate beat 23 SLU
Puck drops and Clarkson gets a penalty. :-)
Frussssssstraaaaaaaated. Second penalty on Clk.
did Krantz take a stick to the face?

Worse, much worse ;)
One of the dirties plays I've ever seen.
paging Mr. O'Byrne, your table is ready.
3-1 on the 4 on 3
2 quick penalties on Cornell; this is the key moment of the game.
Damn, Clarkson scores.
Section O sucks!
Now 5 on 4 for Clarkson
penalty killed
Even strength.
crap. that was a pretty play for clarkson :-/
That was a Paul Kariya move - lucky bastards

yikes. Clarkson is a really gooning it up out there.
Cornell pp.
Scott, Sawada and Cook are all over the ice...
Even strength.
7:39 in reg; very physical, both sides.
Gary Glitter at every TV timeout. :-D
So far tonight Harvard's dropped from 7 to 10 in PWR despite 7-0 win - what a system.
5:46 in reg. Cornell with some nice pressure.
3:52; slogging it out in the neutral zone.

The score doesn't matter. They played Princeton, you can't get too much of a worse addition to your strength of schedule.
2:30 remaining
MOULSON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WHAT A PLAY BY MOULSON!
4-2 CORNELL!
MOULSON!
Moulson came into the offensive zone 1 on 2, one of the guys back was a forward, but he just stepped around him, took a shot, dribbled through the legs of the goalie and in the net... man, that guy can be so clutch :)
:45 to go ...
3 17:54 Cor Moulson 14 (Pegoraro 8, Hynes 14)
Pushing and shoving in the corner, not much should come of it, maybe some minors, :15 left
4-2, Final!
GAME!
4-2 Cornell, a perfect 10-0 at home
another close one though

Are you sure about the Hynes assist? I didn't hear ACM say it.
Jason said it.
As does this - http://www.uscho.com/box/?date=20050128&vis=ckn&home=cor&gender=m
And considering this post is the 100th, I suggest someone open up a postgame thread.
