1 16:47 Drt pp Stempniak (Oulette)
2 13:20 Cor Chris Abbott 3 (McCutcheon 3)
OT 1:26 Drt GW Przepriorka 1 (Glass, Lewis)
Shots approx 27-27 through regulation
3rd OT in 4 road games
Cornell starts the game with an early PP
Dartmouth kills the penalty, pretty much shutting down our offense--one real chance
Hooking on Cornell--Downs
listening to whcu over the air radio here ... nothing meaningful
Could you let me know when Weinstein gets back on to the air? Thanks in advance!
Cornell kills the PP. Dartmouth had one real opportunity when a skater brought the puck right down the heart of the defense straight in on McKee after bringing the puck through the neutral zone.
Cornell on the PP--interference on a huge hit. Doesn't look like we're going to play 5x5 tonight
Interference on Dartmouth. HUGE hit looked big even when pixelated.
anyone else's collegepass feed currently news????
yep, technical difficulties ::rolleyes::
WHCU is down...put up filler until the could re-establish the connection...someone let me know when it is back up? ::help::
Another PP for Cornell...hooking on Dartmouth
Another PP for Cornell, hopefully we look a lot better on this one
I think we're without both Moulson and Gleed (hurt last night I think) tonight.
Dartmouth is back to fullstrength
http://quicktime.dartmouth.edu/hockey_stream.mov
in case anyone didnt see the other thread :)
Jason Weinstein is apparently incompetent. Every Cornell announcer from Sam Woodside (almost 40 years ago) to Adam Wodon has been able to at least hook up a live broadcast from the arena.
6:04 left first period ... whcu finally back on the air
WHCU is working now.
thanks!
Another penalty...on Cornell this time
penalty on Varteressian (elbowing).
Don't think this has been mentioned yet - McLeod in for Moulson tonight, Glover in for Gleed.
PP goal by Dartmouth (Stempniak)
Goal on the PP :-(
appears that Stempniak has scored a power play goal at 16:47
thanks avash .. would take forever to figure that out from the local broadcast
41.4 sec left ... o'byrne penalty
man, he has taken a lot of penalties
Check out Gametracker
http://cornellbigred.collegesports.com/
Darn! Can't win games continually playing a man short! Go Red!
anybody get a description of Stempniak's shot? These announcers pretty much left it alone. All I saw was Ouelette at the blue line, Stempniak at the near circle, and mckee doubled up with the light on behind him.
Game is underway with Dartmouth having a little over a minute of PP time
wow we only have 3 shots the first period, that is really low
There is absolutely no rhythm to this game...
Cornell putting on a lot of pressure right now
Cornell is back on the PP
And here's the penalty...interference on Dartmouth trying to set a pick
Pokulok is not taking away the first defender with his passes to create a 4x3
Topher is really buzzing and just got away with setting a nice pick himself
Cornell is controlling this period
Well Scott did get leveled on his pick
haha! yeah, but he deserved that!
Wow, good save by McKee
this (Dartmouths's) announcer sounds like he's getting really mad when he gets excited
How did Dartmouth not score? Dang. It looked like it was two on McKee with one of the players blocking McKee. And then the ref blows the whistle very early as bodies are flying. Dartmouth is trying to regain momentum.
Camera man is doing a good job of zooming
Abbott scores!!! Great extra effort by McClutch :-P
Woohoo!! Abbott!
Dartmouth announcers commenting on the Faithfuls' "It's all your fault" cheer:
"You're not supposed to hear that in your own building."
Works for me.:-D
was that goal taken away? could have sworn the announcers said it was 1-0 still ::screwy::
Again McKee comes up big for the Red
McKee is looking strong! Dartmouth missed another great loose puck chance.
they did say that, just a brain fart.
lol glad they were mistaken
Did anyone catch the other scores? I see Union 4, Yale 2 end of 2nd on USCHO...
3-0 VMU
The thing I liked about last period was 0 penalties by us
video and audio just cut out...listening to the radio
Yacey comes up big on Bitz
Looks like I am going to resort to radio
I haven't been able to pick up WHCU's net cast, or even any archived audio, all night. But I did just reinstall Norton with all the trimmings; I hope I didn't ef up Real Player.
It looks like Dartmouth shut it down for the 3rd period so Cornell fans couldn't enjoy the ending :-P
video and audio working fine all break, now they break. damnit
anyone else lose the video/audio feed?
i did
Hynes and Knoepfli working a play just missed a great chance
McCutcheon just missed a rebound goal on the blocker side
Yes, it timed out. Their radio-only cast is fine, though.
where's that radio only webcast greg?
Cornell is really putting the pressure on...6 shots through 5 minutes
about 12 minutes to go in the period now
Cam Abbott and Pegs really working hard to create chances. 8 shots with 11 minutes to go.
Dartmouth radio 'cast is at: http://nick8.surfernetwork.com/Media/Dartmouth-WFRD.asx
Cornell seems to be getting closer with every shift. Hopefully we can cash it in, and not have Dartmouth get a cheapie or a fluke.
thank you
7:29 left in the 3rd -- trying to hold back because I'm listening to live radio; I don't want to spoil. Anyone listening over the net, could you update?
Hynes and Knoepfli sounding dangerous again. LGR!
5:49 left in 3rd, dm net off its moorings
Does the color guy always sound like he's drunk ? "uhhh, duhhhhh..."
5:39 to go, Cornell all over Dartmouth but still can't break through.
Dartmouth announcer: "our forecheck isn't working very well right now."
Um, yeah.
4:30 to go in reg.
4:14 to go; shots 26-26
4:14, faceoff in the Cornell zone.
Kratnz and Abbott good pressure. 1:24 to go in reg.
1:24 left, icing on dm, faceoff by yacey
going to OT...again.
Sawada and Downs with chances in the final minute. Going to o.t.
Well we would be 2-0 this weekend if it was not for penalties
Penalties have killed us this weekend
We would be 2-0 this weekend if we could score a few goals! Lack of burying our chances has killed us more than anything.
4:56 to go in o.t.
McKee 2 huge saves on Oulette.
Not a single penalty in the third period, and only one (on D.C.) in the second.
OH MY LORD
ugh
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
crap
What a shitty weekend
stupid hanover
T/L T/L amazing.
we lost? I'm not on audio or video
Thank goodness the video was out. That would have been tough to watch.:-(
It was bad enough listening--my audio cut out right after Weinstein said "rebound and score". :-(
Przepriorka gets is his first goal of the season with the game winner. Wow. Final shots were 30-27 as Cornell couldn't get a shot off in OT. Yuck.
yeah, same here and I was listening to live radio :-(
...As Union continues to dominate the league....
At least the music now coming over the audio feed from DC is good and angry and suits my current mood.
what a rough weekend for the team. the last two weekends actually. these losses/ties can help toughen a team and help them learn from mistakes early so as not to make them later in the season. tough two weeks for cornell when hahvahd beats bc and brown beats duluth...
I was almost happy that Dartmouth won as Cornell did not deserve a tie the way they played tonight. They were absolutely brutal in the first period and improved in the second period and the third period they played well. It does not matter who they play, they are going to need to come out and execute for 60 minutes. Cornell has a better team than Dartmouth and nearly got away with winning despite their poor play early but couldn't score on numerous third period opportunities. Somebody needs to step up and start finishing on a regular basis. Cornell does not have any game-breakers right now and that was the difference tonight. Dartmouth only had a few good scoring chances tonight, yet Stempniak and Przepriorka both showed they could finish.
Extremely disappointing weekend, but I was at both games and can say with absolute confidence that Cornell was superior to both teams. Their preparation and execution are both terrible, however. They also lacked intensity and cohesiveness tonight. It's early and I'm confident that they will beat the crap out of both Vermont and Dartmouth at Lynah and that they will get very good by mid-season.

Ari, by what measure is Cornell superior? I'm not challenging the assessment, not having seen the teams this year. I'm just curious whether you are referring to the raw talent, the potential of the individual players? Is the teamwork better, but just not showing results? The final scores and the shots on goal, or even the penalty minutes, don't suggest a distinctly superior team.
how badly were we missing moulson tonight?
honestly, I don't think we missed him that much. A lot of our scoring chances were not created through grind-'em-out-then-find-Moulson-in-the-slot stuff that we are known for. We'll see what the guys at the game say but from the video stream it looked like we opened up our offense at the beginning of the 2nd.
From the USCHO recap:
Each team was playing without key contributors. Dartmouth's David Jones was out with the flu, while Cornell's leading scorer Matt Moulson and Mitch Carefoot went down Friday night against Colgate.
Come on now.
How about Jessiman and Moulson and Jones and Carefoot. Does that even things up a little? ;-)

I thought that Cornell was a better team top to bottom. With both teams playing at their best, I think Cornell has a definitive edge.
Well, I bet McKewon's glad he finally got to play.
Actually McLeod played.
Really? I wasn't at the games. I just saw a photo in today's Sun with the caption: "Freshman forward Matt McKeown and the men's icers had a tie and a loss in conference play this weekend."
Then again, I should have suspected that the Sun's on crack, since that photo has Iggulden in it.
And the picture is from the home game against army.
USCHO had photos from the UVM game that night :-D
Lol. I hadn't even noticed that part. The Sun's really quite pathetic.
I sent the author a message earlier today about the inaccuracies, and it has been corrected in the recap
Not to excuse mistakes of identification, but Cornell (and other colleges and pro teams) could do a better job of putting jersey numbers on more places. Sometimes there's no jersey number on the front or on the sides of the helmet. Maybe the player's arm is at the right angle to the camera and you can see his sleeve patch, but maybe it's obscured by a defender draped around him, or maybe the jersey sleeve is wrinkled and you can't tell if that's a 6 or an 8.
