Title: ECAC awards brunch honors six players & Schafer
Post by: mha on March 14, 2002, 11:54:42 AM

Mike Schafer is the ECAC's Coach of the Year, Cornell gets two first-team selections, two second-team picks, an all-rookie team choice, and three of the five individual awards.

Interesting there's no mention of POTY or ROTY.  Presume Cavosie and Higgins.  Hope Murray's pissed and hungry.

Congrats to all the guys.  It's especially awesome to see McMeekin get some recognition since he gets less press than some of the other guys.

Anyone got a link to all the awards?  Nothing yet on USCHO or the ECAC site.

It also says that Murray and Cavosie are the two ECAC representatives for the Hobey finalists. This is news to me...and I can't find the list of finalists posted anywhere...

From what I've seen people saying on USCHO, each conference's Hobey finalists are announced at that conference's awards ceremony.  If that's the case, I guess we'll hear more as the weekend progresses.

Gee, I didn't know that "Ken" was his middle name!  :-(

Anyway...  It was nice to see both goalies get "official" recognition.  Has that ever happened before??

Kind of sad that while Ken chose never to sign an endorsement, the award given in his name has been commercialized by the wonderful ECAC.

Can they do that without his permission?

Recognitions were well deserved...

Thanks.

Nice to see E-T get the other first team D slot.  Did Walsh get a mention?

Interesting that letters N through Z are not represented among the Hobey finalists.  Maybe they started with A and quit after they got to ten.::rolleyes::

speaking of awards, interesting post of whiners and immature idiots on uscho complaining about ryan carter getting a hobey nomination.
-he is a bad player who plays on an inferior team in an inferior conference and he got a hobey nomination b/c of politics.
that is basically what they are saying.
i havent seen the guy so i dont know but these people on uscho make me laugh
