Title: ELynah Desktops
Post by: CowbellGuy on November 02, 2004, 06:33:12 PM
A desktops section has been added to ELynah.com. The first image available is the one from the panorama print. Everyone can download the 800 x 600 pixel version and those who purchase the print will be able to download larger versions. If you've pre-ordered the print, you will receive your password shortly.

Please remember the notebook users running 1400x1050.

And remember us poorer people who can't afford the print now but who have kicked in $50 to support ELynah previously, and run 1600x1200 resolutions...:`(

Don't you mean notebook user? That's hardly a standard size. I might make a large wide(r) aspect ratio that can just be reasonably scaled up or down, though.

I guess that's a good point. I'll send the password to the $50 donation folks, too.

About one in three PC notebooks run at 1400 x 1050, or SXGA+. Doesn't matter what Macs run at, because even in 100% of them ran at a special resolution, their numbers overall wouldn't amount to squat. It's being overtaken by Linux. Mac is about 3% market share except in academic communities and among graphic artists.

Next big fall for Apple is iPod. Nobody does it better for design but turning its back on WMA format is going to be a killer long-term. That and refusing to let others license the protected iMusic format (save HP, and that's by reselling iPods).

Bill, stick to speaking of what you know.

My experience has been that one should never take issue in public with Mac users, Scientologists, or stage mothers.

I just sent out e-mails, but there were some bounces and I'm not positive I got everyone. If you didn't get a password and should have, let me know. Thanks.

Hey, I didn't bring up Macs. That came out of left field.

Absolutely. I'm in Biotech most of the day on weekdays and I will have a few at the games this weekend (I'm there by warmups and usually hang around afterwards). If anyone in the area wants to see them, just e-mail me and we can arrange to meet. One caveat: I won't have any until Friday this week. Thanks.

Good timing on that, Age.  However flat the team may have looked this weekend, Topher looked sharp pretty much the whole time IMO.  I can see why the fans like him.
