i was just checking with their staff and the login is not working correctly. it sends you to paypal even if you have already paid.. if you have a season pass you might want to go for the $5 one time fee and have them credit you next week..
they are working on the issue now.
I'm just trying to sign up for an account and the pages won't load.
Looks like I'll just be listening tonight.
I had a problem with their "frames" but once I copied the link into the browser window for the login I was able to sign up just fine.
Hope it works out.
Let's Go Red!!!
I was just able to sign in fine, but no feed yet.
One other question.
Anybody know exactly how the "month" works for the RealOne Pass?
Is it a month from the day you sign up, or will it end in a few days, forcing me to rebuy on November 1?
I just got the feed, no problems -- they appear to be playing promotional material at the moment.
Firefox 0.9.3 on Linux. Still using a codec supported by my xine installation, thank goodness...
I got the promo too...I meant no live feed yet.
You getting sound? I'm just getting the picture.
No sound yet, but I figured that was just their promo material sucking.
I got sucky promo material, but now it's doing the same thing it did yesterday, which seems to imply that the feed doesn't exist.
ETA: that is, kaffeine says "Connecting MMS server (over http) ... 30%" and just sits there.
Live feed seems to be up and running now.
Up and running for me too! Let's Go Red!
Also up for me. GO RED!!
Running for me (in kaffeine).
I still can't get into I2sports -- frames are in the way. How'd you get rid of them?
Jdeafv said, "once I copied the link into the browser window for the login I was able to sign up just fine" -- I'm not sure what this means. What link did you copy?
My trouble is that there's a big white space in the lower left corner of the screen that blocks out the login screens and "pay" button.
All help appreciated.
Are you trying to register or login?
Login -- I registered last year and had no problems. Thanks for any help.
Which screen are you stuck on, the one w/ the prices are with the actual login form?
The latter -- the one with the login form. I can see most of that form if I remove all my toolbars from the top of my screen, so I can log in, but I then I get stuck on the paypal screen -- I enter my paypal info but can't get access to the "pay" button. Also, the right half the screen is covered with info about CU hockey. Is that covering up the paypal "pay" button? Thanks much.
Are you paying per game, cuz mine is all season so I dont see the Paypal (at least I dont think I did) when I log in.
Per game. (I"m hoping to get up to Ithaca enough to save $ by paying per game.)
Thanks, though.
anyone getting that constent buzzing sound while watching the video?

I'm having the same problem trying to get a season pass. Looks like that Cornell hockey panel on the right is in the way.

Yup. Also hear a clicking in the background.
Yeah, we're all hearing it. To report the problem:

Seems to have gotten better in the 2nd intermission.

Last year, I recall, there was trouble seeing all the signup page if you were running at a non-XGA or SVGA resolution. Specifically, laptops running at 1400x1050 seemed to not see the bottoms of pages, so you had to switch to XGA (1024x768) at least during signup. Try backing off to a lower resolution.

I'm having the same problem at 1024x768. Am I nuts, or wouldn't having lower resolution push the "Pay" button even further off the screen?
It seems they changed the login page so hopefully it wont be a problem anymore.

It worked for me this morning. Don't know why, but I'm not going to ask.
As I wait for the game to start, all I have is a screen saying "waiting for paypal verification," which has been there for 10 minutes, which is odd since my paypal account is almost 2 years old. Is that the normal process? It seems this was much easier last season.
I had th same thing happen twice. So I have paid 2x for this game. BUT.. It still won't let me view the feed. I have sent them an email and will let you know if I hear from them.
Thanks, I did exactly the same thing (paid twice).
I'm stuck at the same screen (waiting for authorization). I signed into Paypal and it says the payment should clear on Nov. 3. I emailed i2sports about it, and I'm on hold with Paypal right now...
Brian
I'm in the same boat. Paid multiple times...no feed :(
Thanks for the update - Keep us informed.
Yeah, it doesn't make sense to me. My Paypal account is two years old.
I had no problems with it last night...and it seems to be working for other people tonight, so i don't know what the deal is. Argh. Maybe i should have ponied up for a season pass last night.
Perhaps that's the way to go. Although last year I paid game-by-game and had no problems.
On another negative note, Gametracker hasn't even registered that the game has started on my computer. I think two unsuccessful nights of i2sports in a row means I'll be spending the year just listening to the free audio and clicking refresh an awful lot on the forum...

Right you are. I have it backwards. I dropped my 1400x1050 laptop to 1027x768 or 800x600 so it could feed the TV better and then the Pay Here button dropped off the screen. I think if you get rid of all the Explorer toolbars you may be able to get low enough to click the pay button.
Anyone heard from I2Sports about the problems last weekend? I emailed on Friday about the technical problems, then again on Saturday to request a refund of the PayPal debit that bought me nothing. No response.
Their lack of customer service annoys me more than the technical problems. :-( I recall pretty attentive service and a reliable feed last year. What happened in the interim? At any rate, I'm giving up on them.
I first heard back from them on Sunday, asking me to detail my problems. I got all my money refunded on Monday, and they say they will have things smoothed out in time for Harvard. Apparently they had some glitch involving people buying consecutive games.
During the sign up, in the comments field I added a comment about how I disliked the confusing PayPal sign up and got a reply within a couple of days making asking if I was able to receive the feed OK.
Seemed like good cosutomer service to me.
Roy
Thanks. With that info, I just called them. They were appropriately apologetic and processed the refund. :-)
for us unlucky people who don't have tickets for this weekend games. Is there any where eles online that is free, AND we can watch the game?? Maybe Harvard (sucks) has a online broadcasting network, or Brown...Anyone know about it? Lemme know -thanks
Us unlucky peole who don't have tickets for this weekend games should feel extremely fortunate that we get to watch our team's hockey games for an extremely reasonable charge of $5/game, or even less for a season package.
Glass is more than half full for me on this one (and the 25 or so games I won't be at this, and all future years.)
Seriously - even Colgate, who gives away their home webcasts for free, does not webcast away games. Have one less beer and pay for the webcast - unless, of course, beer is more important to you than Cornell/Harvard hockey, in which case, why the heck are you posting here? ::screwy::
gezz, sorry. I was just asking because last year I remember watching the game online, and I thought it was free it could have been i sports though...hmm. I'll guess I'll try i2sports. -sorry bout that ::twitch::
Is Colgate webcasting their hockey games this year? i2sports doesn't show anything for Colgate hockey.
anyone having problems logging into i2sports tonite?
I'm in after three tries, but have no sound.
Me. How long is supposed to take once you've entered your ID and password? I just have the message "If your browser does not automatically forward to the media please click here"
i paid through paypal and get to the screen that says to click here if my browser doens't automatically forward me, and ...... nothing.
I tried two different ways that the guy at i2sports recommended, and both got me stuck at the "Waiting for authorization from Paypal" screen, so it looks like I'll just have the Harvard audio feed for tonight. That makes me 0 for 4 with i2sports...
dunno how long to wait - i keep restarting it hoping it will work one of these times
What did he suggest you do?
I'm in, and with sound. Using the SECOND URL mentioned in the .asx file.
where did you find the second url exactly?
Hey guys, I'm getting a very bizarre image.. strange colors like if it was a trippy music video. Blue red and green splotches everywhere...
Is anyone else seeing this?
never mind - i got it
You got in regularly, or some other way?
Here's the email response Chris Fyall of i2sports sent me after last week's problems:
Unfortunately, the process is a little confusing, but it is easily fixed.
The key is that you must make an "instant" (read: credit card) payment in
order to get instant access.
There are two ways to make instant payments when purchasing webcasts. The
easiest way is to connect a credit card directly to your PayPal account.
Here is how to do that:
1. Log into your PayPal account at PayPal.com
2. Click "Profile" near the top right of the page.
3. In the middle column, click "Credit Cards"
4. Enter all appropriate information.
5. At this point, the credit card is connected.
When logging into i2sports's webcast, signin as a new user, click the "Buy
Now" button, and then login to your PayPal account. You should have two
payment options, the eCheck, and your credit card.
If you do not wish to connect a credit card to your PayPal account, or if
that process somehow fails, there is another way to pay instantly. Once
you clicked the "Buy Now" button, instead of logging into your PayPal
account, click the button near "If you do not currently have a PayPal
account." From this button, click the "No shipping required", and enter
the rest of your information.
**************
I tried paying with a credit card and not going through Paypal, and when that didn't work I tried using the $5 balance I had from last week's refund. No luck yet, but at least he's emailing back and forth with me to try to get it up and running for tonight.
Brian
I logged on regularly but the colors are all messed up...
And bigredtrumpet or krose?
I should mention here.. I figured out the color problem, and i'm impressed with how quick i2sports got back to me.
I must say, I did the i2sports feed for the first time and it went off without a hitch. After watching the first period on a laptop screen, my roommates and I realized we had an S-video cord, so we fed the video and audio through the TV and surround sound.
It was pretty damn neat, all things considered. I think i2 just clinched $50 more of my money, although the technical problems discussed here give me some pause.
All in all, a great way to stay connected to Cornell hockey, and a great game!
Let's Go Red!!
ditto ... although we hooked it up to our projector and watched it on the wall :-D
Nice.
What was even sweeter was that the quality was sharper on the TV than on the computer. Not sure of the techy/resolution reason for that, but I ain't complaining :)

Yeah that's cause the feed resolution is probably 200x200 or something. Your TV has a resolution of anywhere from 240, 425,500 scan lines. Whereas your computer probably has 800 or 1024 scan lines. Thus when you put the low resolution hockey feed on the tv, it occupies more of the lines and doesn't look so spotty.
