final Harvard (sucks) 34, Cornell .  too bad, but we're still fairing much better then last season.

sucks 34, Cornell 24....to fill in the space.  I bet Harvard scouted us pretty hard after we beat Yale.

We were certainly competitive.  Scored the first 10 points of the second half to take a 24-21 lead.  Then Hardaway mysteriously disappeared from the lineup for three or four series of downs and we lost all offensive flow.

Harvard has a lot more guns, especially QB Ryan Fitzpatrick, whose scrambling really did us in in the fourth quarter.  The defense really shut down Harvard's all-Ivy back, Clifton Dawson--first time in ten games he didn't get 100 yards (only 60).  Based on what I saw today, we should be competitive against all the Ivy teams this year.

i agree with the previous assessments. lots of cornell fans showed up; lots of fans in general were there as well. i wish cornell had that kind of following.

we played well off the bat. harvard's qb killed us more than anything, with his scrambling for first downs. if we hadn't allowed a 90 yard return for a touchdown, or hadn't missed the second fg attempt, or hadn't chosen to go for it on 4th and long in a trick play, we would have been within very close striking distance of the win. our team is much better than their record reflects, and i haven't seen a cornell football team play that well since my freshman yr when we kept winning until penn spanked us.

Anybody have thoughts about what Knowles' style/strength/strategy is as compared with the teams of the last 10 or so seasons?

[Q]"With a quarterback like that, [they're] just going to have a field day," said Cornell coach Chip Knowles. "It just changes the whole game when you have a quarterback who can do that. He's just an extremely effective weapon. Their offense is just really hard to handle because they can do so many things."[/Q]

Title: Winless in 5 games at Harvard

 ::worry::

Kind of a lost nightmare of a weekend -

Football 24-34
M Soccer 0-4
W Soccer 1-4
Field Hockey 0-5
Volleyball 2-3

When was the last time either side swept like that?
