Has anyone heard if the video feed will be back on i2sports again this year?
The webcast games are seductive. On a 53-inch TV, you will notice some pixellation, however. You're never sure if a goal is really scored except a couple pixels behind the goalie turn red and the arms of the players go up in the air.

Plus the video feed is like having 5 layers of netting between you and the ice.
Yeah, but 5 layers of netting is still a lot easier to see through than 1600 miles of troposphere...
I'm a bit concerned. i2sports calendar hasn't been updated since April/May. I thought they tended to do a lot of cross-country/track meets, which would seem to be appropriate at this time of year.
Maybe Athletics will be running their own -- like during the playoff games?
I sure hope we get some sort of video.

Hey, how hard can it be to do? They use something a little better than a DV camcorder, pick up the radio broadcast for audio, and stuff it on the Web. Oh, right, they put up graphics that show the score. No instant replay, no reverse angle cameras. Maybe one of the fraternities could do this as public service instead of owning a mile of litter pickup on Route 13.
Ermm, you do remember what happened when someone was doing it for free, right?
ESPN started on a shoestring, too. But I think the operation was bigger than one white panel van and a bunch of cables.
You *can* make money doing this because there's always money available to spend on sports or sex. I'm not sure the G-O--R-E-D navels count as the latter, but it's a start. I've paid five bucks for a lousy Webcast most every night I was home; I'd pay ten (shhh) for a truly viewable feed. (I'm sure the Dookies would, too, for their beloved away basketball games if they're not getting them now.) If not now then before 2010, there's enough bandwidth and compression going to be available to stream every college hockey game in America every night at viewable levels.
