Near the end of the first half, tied at 3, with Princeton just scored... 3:36 left in the half.
4-3 Tigers on the man up!
By the way, in the early game, Hopkins beat UNC 15-9.
Just beat me to that.
Winner of this plays winner of Cornell/Navy.
4-3 Tigers at the half on a 3 goal run.
4-4 early in the 3rd, and a P'ton turnover...
but they bring it back and make it 5-4 P'ton with 4:11 gone in the half.
7-6 Maryland in a back and forth game, no one's lead by more than 1 since I turned it on at 3-3. 2 minutes left in the third.
There don't seem to be many peaks at this thread so I haven't been updating much. If you want more often, let me know.
And Princeton misses a beautiful opportunity. Man completely open in front on a pass from the side, no one around for 30 feet, but he can't get the handle on it, bobbling it 2 or 3 times.
Same score, 12:34 left in the 4th... P'ton draws the man up...
Nothin' doing, a couple attempts but no shots, and loses posession a bit after the man up ends. 11 min left
Fast break after a bunch of sloppy plays on Pton, 8-6 Maryland.
Pton having its possession time, but not getting any significant shots. 4 minutes left, and another turnover. Maryland takes the ball.
Pton finally fakes 'em out and drives in, 8-7 Terps. 2 minutes left.
Tigers win the faceoff and calls a timeout.
great action, Pton shot off the post, lost it, back again
20 seconds
SCORES!! Tied at 8 with 12 seconds left, on a great deke
Maryland wins the faceoff and takes the last timeout with 8 seconds left
Um, wow :-O
Overtime, but P'ton took a penalty with 1 second left.
And yeah, wow's good word for it. Such action, back and forth 4 times in the past 3 minute. Great saves, bouncing balls, a post, and a clutch goal. The color man said "if this doesn't get you into the game of lacrosse, I don't know what will." Seriously impressive.
Maryland starts with the ball but it squeeks to center. Pton ball on a push.
SCORES! Princeton wins after a timeout! 3 straight goals by Boyle to win it.
There will be at lease one Ivy representative in Baltimore.
First upset of the tourney in the 6-3 game.
Don't ever bet against Princeton in the NCAAs.
If we win tomorrow, we're matched up with Princeton in Baltimore. That'd be interesting.
Trombino got the game-winner, with an assist to Boyle (I think).
Princeton is now 23-0 in the NCAAs against teams other than Syracuse. (Yikes!)
Well let's win tomorrow to guarantee an Ivy presence in the Championship game.
That would be since 1992, right? Princeton lost to Towson in OT in 1991.
I was looking that up because one of my friends endured a whole lot of woofing from a Maryland fan last week, and wants to rub it in a little. I also found out - Princeton has taken 5 straight from Maryland in the NCAAs.
Something tells me Princeton's streak will come to an end this year, but it's still a pretty ridiculous stat.
