Goal by (G) Russo. I saw Brown do that to us in a playoff game back in 96 or 97.
Carolina 13-6 winner, advances to play Hopkins.
They're talking about pulling the goalie. Can you do that to get an extra attacker, or just to double-team the attacking team? From what I remember of my (high school) playing days, 4 guys have to be behind the midfield line at all times.

Best as I can tell, the goalie just leaves the crease and double-teams the guy with the ball in an attempt to get a turnover. That's how Hobart got their last goal last week, I think.

One of the neatest plays I've ever seen was in a game in the 80's when we were playing SU at the Dome. SU put their goalie up around midfield to help on the defense against the clearing attempt by us. We recognized it and one of our players heaved the ball. It bounced over midfield and the SU goalie, and almost went it. :-P
Syracuse 10, Albany 5, 3rd
Georgetown 8, Towson 3, 3rd
Syracuse 14, Albany 6, 4th
Georgetown 9, Towson 3, 4th
FINAL:
Syracuse 21, Albany 13
Georgetown 15, Towson 8
For all the whining about seeding on laxpower.com, it certainly looks like the criteria work well. All top 8 seeds are moving on to the next round.

But then again, all had the benefit of home field.
The NCAA's lacrosse criteria are so ridiculous, they deserve to be whined about independent of which teams are affected.
is the cornell game at noon or three?

Was Matt Palumb in goal for 'cuse? I seem to remember he liked to play out of the goal quite a bit. He occasionally would clear the ball himself by running across midfield into the box before dumping it off to Lockwood or one of the Gaits.
Matt was an All-American at Jamesville-Dewitt in '86 and then was the starting goalie at SU for 3 national titles (88-90). He may stick out in your memory because he was the only goalie I've ever seen who wore football pants/thigh pads.
He's a NCAA offiical now and has officiated a couple of national title games, making him the only person ever to play in and officiate a national championship.
[ObHockeyContent]Palumb claims to have been a hockey goalie as well, although I dunno at what level.
I haven't seen this officially, but someone posted this as the game-time on the Laxpower forum.
