The NCAA hockey selection show is on ESPN2 (2:30 PM - 3:00PM)
Go Adam W. !!
Harvard gets Maine in Albany
Also, OSU plays Wisc.
So we get to cheer for Harvard to put a few past Howard. I guess that makes it a *little* easier to cheer for them. ::screwy::

1 Maine
2 Ohio State
3 Wisconsin
4 Harvard
Northeast Regional

2 Michigan
3 New Hampshire

West Regional

Midwest Regional

A 1 seed for BC after the way they ended their season is a joke, though I certainly understand the criteria well enough that I saw it coming.
At least they are forced to play in UHN's backyard.
Cornell was 4-1 against tournament teams. This was a good year, but it could have been a better one if we had come out of the gate strong. I'm looking forward to 2004-05.
Minnesota started 2-7-1. Did you see a #1 seed coming for them? You should have after Friday night.
That's great - Harvard vs. Howard. If you look at it as Harvard and Lenny's record vs. Maine, it becomes a lot easier to root for Harvard if you were on the fence.

Don't count out Niagara. They're catching BC in the same situation they caught UNH in back in 2000.
Yeah, unfortunately, we may need to root for Harvard to score a few goals on Howard and then lose, to give someone else a shot at him. Howard needs to give up 5 goals in one game or 6 goals in two games to get his GAA back above Lenny's record. If Harvard beats Howard and Maine 4-3, it ends his season with a 1.198 GAA (Lenny's was 1.202).
Wow, so the ECAC rep. must lose pretty much in order for Lenny's record to stand barring a 7-0 drubbing by Harvard, that's not going to happen. That is a very very difficult predicament as a fan to be in. But I won't lose any sleep over it.
We've been speculating whether Howard's record would count - he meets USCHO's threshold but does he meet the NCAA's? Anybody have an idea who to contact at the NCAA? Or should we just wait for it all to play out. Is there an official page somewhere that shows Lenny at the top of lowest GAA for a season.? ::help::
USCHO shows his GAA at 1.05 - if you count minutes played vs. games played, it's even lower with last night's game. Discrepancy?
John,
Just curious, and I'm sure you can tell us...if Clarkson had beaten Harvard, is it likely they'd have been paired against Maine also?
How close was Colgate to getting the 16th spot?
Thanks!
From the TV schedule on USCHO, those of us with cable in Ithaca (and anyone with MSG, among other networks) will see FOUR back to back to back to back games on Saturday afternoon on MSG:
Noon: Boston College vs. Niagara, LIVE (Northeast Semifinal)
3:30: Michigan vs. New Hampshire, LIVE (Northeast Semifinal)
6:00: East Regional Final on tape delay (Maine vs. Ohio State as the #1 vs #2)
9:00: West Regional Final joined in progress (North Dakota vs. Denver as the #1 vs #2)
And on Sunday, the Midwest Final and the Northeast Final will be on MSG, both LIVE, at 1:00 and 4:00, respectively.
Better than showing the Rangers embarrass themselves some more ::bang::

Clarkson is lower in the Pairwise than both Niagara and Holy Cross who got the AHA and CHA autobids. The pairings would have been a bit different. Clarkson would probably have gotten shipped west to Colorado to play North Dakota.
Watching Messier spear someone is not good hockey? Maybe some day NYC can get a real hockey team, until then I will continue to laugh.
hey FT ... you laugh at the rangers while we all laugh at you :-O
... you stupid facetimer::stupid::
With all due respect...I laugh at the Rangers too. :-P
Let's go Devils! :-D
::whistle:: ::whistle:: ... the devils might just be the only decent thing in that God forsaken state ::whistle:: ::whistle::
Cornell may not have made the tourny but at least we made the shirt! :-P

16 spots
minus AHA Champ minus CHA champ minus ECAC champ = 13 at-large spots (including Minny and Maine who were already in the top 16).
The "bubble" was a 3-way tie at #13 in the PWR for the last at-large bid -- Notre Dame, Colorado College and Colgate. If Colgate could have won 1 additional comparison they would be in the tourney.

[/Q]I don't understand that shirt at all. It includes two teams that aren't in this year's tourney and two teams that weren't in the '03 Frozen Four.
Is it a photoshop joke?

Would a Clarkson win over Harvard have flipped any comparisons and moved them ahead of Niagara or HC?

They're just preselling Frozen Four shirts here: http://www.sportdesigns.com/heashop/. No idea how they picked the teams, they look good to me, though :-)

Check out the Frozen Four logoware website explanation:
Please note: Team logos on the approval artwork were chosen by the manufacturer. Logos will be adjusted following the regionals to reflect the actual Frozen Four teams.
Weren't those last years four #1 seeds?
JH
New Hampshire, not Maine, was a #1 last year.
Then, ya got me.
